Abstract: A band spooling machine (1) including a small arbor (19) with protrusions (21) that rotate with the arbor. In an embodiment, the machine includes a table (3) having side rails (7) and a single rotating arbor (19) carrying two spaced-apart pins (21) having blocks (23) that rotate freely on the pins. The arbor is preferably mounted close to one end of the machine and substantially closer to one of the side rails than to the other. The blocks prevent the blade from kinking. The machine forms the band into a pretzel having a circle part (C) divided by a central reach (R) into two lobes, and a teardrop shaped tail (T).
Abstract: A resistance butt flash welding machine comprises two work piece clamping platens, at least one of which is movable with respect to the other, an electric servo motor operatively mechanically connected to the movable platen, and a programmable electrical control connected to the servo motor to control the motor, and programmed to regulate the pattern of timing of changes in motion of the movable platen, to control speed of the motion and to control the upsetting force applied to the movable platen required to forge together work pieces clamped in the platens. The process of use of the machine includes programming the programmable control.
Abstract: A knife sharpening machine has sharpening and honing assemblies each having fixed and movable subassemblies with circular stones mounted on shafts, the stones being spaced from one another. An adjusting mechanism moves the movable subassemblies toward and away from the fixed subassemblies, from a position at which the stones interleave to one at which they are substantially tangent to one another. The movable subassemblies each includes a yoke in a free end of which the stone-carrying shaft is journaled for rotation. The yoke is pivoted on an axis of rotation. One gear is mounted on the axis of rotation of the yoke co-axially with the axis, driving a gear on the shaft of the subassembly carried by the yoke. A motor and gears of gear trains intermediate a pinion on the motor and the pivot gear are mounted on a plate mounted on a cast base/housing supporting the yoke.
