Patents Assigned to Edlund Company, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7554043
Abstract: An electronic weighing scale that includes an inner housing and an outer housing surrounding the inner housing. In one embodiment, the inner and outer housings are not secured to one another and are spaced apart by shock-absorbing spacers designed to absorb shock of impact loads such as may be caused by the scale being dropped. The inner housing includes a chassis defining a load cell cavity that contains a load cell. The inner housing also includes an electronics compartment closure that together with the chassis define an electronics compartment that contains electronics of the scale, including display electronics and user-controls electronics. In one embodiment, the electronics compartment is hermetically sealed to protect the electronics from moisture.

  • Patent number: 5331889
Abstract: A manual can crusher for crushing a can having a housing with a top opening for receiving a can to be crushed, a bottom opening for discharging a crushed can, and an interior crushing wall with a creasing block mounted thereon. A crushing ram is disposed within the housing and is pivotable between an open position where the ram is opposite the crushing wall and a closed position where the ram is adjacent to the crushing wall. A longitudinally extending handle is rotatably mounted on the housing, and linkage couples the handle to the ram. A can to be crushed is placed into the top opening and the handle is rotated to move the ram between the open and closed positions via the linkage. The can is crushed against the interior crushing wall until is is sufficiently crushed to be discharged through the bottom opening.

  • Patent number: 5199756
Abstract: A pair of locking tongs for grasping items which includes two arms, each with a hinge end and a grasping end. A hinge pin is provided for pivotally connecting the two arms together at their hinge ends so that the arms can pivot between an open and closed position. A locking plate is provided for locking the arms in the closed position slidably disposed at the hinge ends of the arms. The locking plate is movable from a first unlocked position to a second locked position whereby the locking plate engages the hinged ends of the arms and prevents the arms from opening.
