  • Patent number: 5823105
Abstract: A waste compacting apparatus is provided for compacting waste in a disposal barrel, and includes a frame on which a ram assembly is supported. The apparatus also includes a movable pallet for supporting the disposal barrel for movement through an opening in the frame between a compacting position in which the disposal barrel is aligned with a ram of the ram assembly, and a handling position outside the frame in which the disposal barrel is accessible for handling. The pallet includes a base plate on which the disposal barrel sits, and the base plate overlies a base of the frame in the compacting position so that the base plate and disposal barrel are supported on the base during compaction of the waste by the ram. A method of collecting and compacting waste in a disposal barrel is also provided, and includes the steps of collecting waste in a collection barrel, and moving the collection barrel onto a dumping apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4957302
Abstract: A support apparatus for selectively supporting a human being in one of a plurality of positions includes a support structure and a seat assembly having a frame and a seat mounted on the frame for movement therewith. The seat assembly is positionable relative to support structure along an arcuate path defined by an arcuate guide track provided on one of the frame and support structure. A plurality of rollers are rotatably supported on the other of the frame and support structure, the rollers engaging the guide track to support the seat assembly on the support structure and being movable relative to the guide track to permit movement of the seat assembly relative to the support structure. A back support member may be pivotally mounted on the frame to permit selective positioning of the back support member in one of a plurality of positions relative to the seat while moving with the seat during movement of the seat assembly relative to the support structure.

  • Patent number: 4691464
Abstract: A flexible fabric covering for avian decoys for enhancing the life-like accuracy of the decoy. Markings are illustrated on the exterior of the covering and represent the surface features of a wildfowl. A reflective iridescent panel is attached to the covering at substantially the location of a duck's secondary feathers to mimic the iridescence of the secondary feathers. The covering is removably secured to the decoy by a drawstring or elastic band.

  • Patent number: 4682750
Abstract: Twin linkage assemblies shift a support platform between a low profile, fully collapsed position and a fully extended position of a height suitable for supporting a workman underneath an aircraft or for supporting, for instance, an engine at a comfortable working position. A hydraulic cylinder and piston assembly is connected at opposite ends to swivel members and torque arms, the latter of which are connected to short links which in turn are coupled to linkages interconnecting a base and the work supporting platform. The torque arms, in cooperation with the swivel members, facilitate swinging of the links and linkages to reduce the force necessary to separate the platform and base to a value smaller than would otherwise be required.
