Abstract: A device for making a beverage particularly a coffee-based beverage, comprising an electronic control unit; a portable cooking pot having a bottom and an open top for receiving a mixture that is added to the cooking pot to make the beverage, in which a cooking process is performed; a heating means for heating the cooking pot during the cooking process; and an infrared temperature sensor for contactless sensing the temperature in the cooking pot. Said infrared temperature sensor is configured to detect the temperature of an upper surface of the mixture during the cooking process and said infrared temperature sensor is disposed in proximity to the cooking pot, at a distance such as to allow the measurement of the temperature of the upper surface of the mixture contactless.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composite iron sole plate coated using sol-gel process with hydrolysis and condensation products of silanes with a metal precursor. The selected silanes are MTEOS and TEOS which give improved and tailored coatings for iron sole plates along with a metal precursor. The invention also relates to a novel method of producing iron sole plates having this coating, as well as an iron having such sole plate. The coating composition, when applied to an iron sole plate, found to be improving surface characteristics in terms of low friction, abrasion resistance, shine prevention and ease of cleaning due to its chemical stability and flatness.

Abstract: A metalware for use in elevated temperatures, where the surface of the said ware is coated with a layer which is a hydrolysis and polycondensation product of a composition comprising tetraethoxy silane (TEOS), methyl trimethoxy silane (MTMS), dimethyl siloxane (DMS), inorganic filler and polar solvent where the said composition comprises 1,3-dialkyl imidazolium alkyl sulfate.

Abstract: The present invention proposes a domestic appliance and specifically an electrical toaster having a pair of heating plates in thermal communication with heat sources accommodated to transfer heat to said plates. Grilling plates are typically positioned in the manner that a lower plate lies horizontally in a stationary manner and an upper plate is hinged to be rotatable relative to said lower plate to be closed upon the same in order for forming a grilling chamber enclosing a food article from below and above. The apparatus comprises a first mechanical thermostat in thermal communication with said lower grilling plate settable to power off said electrical resistance at a fixed temperature value of said plate and a second bimetal thermostat in thermal communication with said lower grilling plate settable to power off said electrical resistance at different temperature values of said plate.

Abstract: The present invention proposes an herbal tea machine having a reservoir for receiving herbal tea leaves and water mixture. Said reservoir is associated with an opening for introducing water and herbal ingredients. Said herbal tea machine comprises a heating arrangement for effecting boiling. To prevent overflowing due to frothing, heat transferred to the reservoir is reduced in the beginning of boiling and boiling occurs under reduced heat. The present invention further comprises means for lowering herbal ingredients into the water to improve infusion effect thereof.
