  • Patent number: 8948034
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for detecting, transmitting, and analyzing at least one safety-related signal (S1 . . . Sn), wherein the at least one safety-related signal (S1 . . . Sn) is detected using at least one detection unit (EE1 . . . EEn) and is transmitted to at least one analyzing unit (AE1 . . . AE4) via a radio system (FS). In order to simplify the detection of safety-related signals and improve the transmission thereof via a faulty radio path, at least two safety-related signals (S1, S2) are independently detected and transmitted to the analyzing unit (AE1 . . . AE4) via the radio system (FS) so as to allow a dangerous action to be carried out, and an output signal (FRS) for allowing a dangerous action to be carried out is generated by logically combining the received safety-related signals (S1 . . . Sn).

  • Patent number: 7689301
Abstract: A safety control device for ensuring safety of an object to be controlled, including: communication unit which is used for communication with another safety control device and uses a frame including a test bit string T having correlation with a base bit string B; and detection unit which compares with the base bit string B the test bit string T included in a frame having been received from another safety control device, thereby determining the number of bit errors in the frame.

  • Patent number: 7054791
Abstract: A method for monitoring a handling device (12) that is used to guide an energy source (14), wherein the energy source that applies energy to a work piece (16, 18) is moved at a speed V inside a protective cabinet (22). To allow the energy source to be moved relative to a work piece, without inadmissible temperature increases occurring, it is proposed that the speed of the energy source (14) moved inside the chamber be established as the current speed Vakt, that the current speed Vakt of the energy source (14) be compared with a minimum speed Vmin that is dependent upon the power being emitted by the energy source, and that if the current speed should fall below the minimum speed Vmin at least the energy source (14) shall be switched off immediately or following expiration of an allowable period of time below this minimum speed.

  • Patent number: 6853292
Abstract: A safety-oriented control system with a plurality of decentralized stations is disclosed. The safety-oriented control system is provided with inputs and outputs and at least one centralized station exchanging information with each other via a bus line, wherein at least one of the decentralized stations has independent devices for fault-tolerating and/or fault-controlling self-monitoring to ensure normal operation for linkage and evaluation of signals located at the inputs and outputs of this station or further stations, and devices for processing of the signals and for generation of independent control commands.

  • Patent number: 6466539
Abstract: Subject of the invention is a serial bus system with two data lines (10, 12), connected at one end to a central bus subscriber (14) and to an active bus subscriber at the other end (16). The central and the active bus subscriber transmits status messages over the bus (10, 12) whose bus lines are physically passed through in the bus subscribers (18, 20) between the two ends. In case of missing status messages or error in the status messages, the central bus subscriber (14) brings the bus system into a fail-safe state.
