Abstract: Pressurized, blowing agent-containing isocyanate semiprepolymer mixtures advantageously having an isocyanate content of from 5 to 25% and based on organic polyisocyanates and alkoxylated lignin having a hydroxyl number of from 30 to 80, preferably in admixture with lignin-free polyhydroxyl compounds are used for producing single-component polyurethane foams.

Abstract: A process for producing CFC-free polyurethane rigid foams having reduced thermal conductivity comprises reactinga) isocyanate semiprepolymers modified with urethane groups and containing from 31 to 20% by weight of NCO, based on aromatic polyisocyanates and at least one aromatic and/or preferably aliphatic polyester-polyol having a hydroxyl number of from 22 to 400,b) at least one relatively high molecular weight compound containing at least two reactive hydrogen atoms, which advantageously have arylene units bonded to them, and, if desired,c) low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence ofd) blowing agents, preferably cyclopentane and/or cyclohexane in combination with water,e) catalysts and, if desired,f) additives. The CFC-free polyurethane rigid foams are preferably used as insulation material in refrigeration appliances and as insulation in composite and heating elements, for example for insulating remote heating pipes.
Abstract: A process for the inscription of moldings based on thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers or mixtures of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers with up to 45% by weight based on the total weight of polymers, of further thermoplastics, by means of high-energy radiation, wherein the additives employed to improve the inscribability include a copper phosphate and an inorganic phyllosilicate.
Abstract: The process and the appropriate apparatus for producing rigid foam elements, in particular of polyurethane, operate with a double-belt unit, in which the rigid foam elements produced are provided with upper and lower cover sheets. A parting agent is applied on the lower cover sheet in a particular region in order to permit subsequent removal of the upper cover sheet and the ridge foam in this region, so that the lower cover sheet projects, and foams an overlapping section during subsequent use as a roofing element or the like. The invention permits a very precise cut to be made by means of the sawing apparatus at the end of the double-belt unit, taking into account the application of parting agent at the beginning and, if necessary, the movement of the sawing apparatus itself.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of moldings, in particular resilient elements, which by virtue of a densified surface zone with substantially closed cells, have only a low water absorption, wherein a mixture comprising:(a) 100 parts by weight of an NCO-containing prepolymer, having an NCO content of from 3 to 6% by weight and based on organic diisocyanates and substantially linear polyester-polyols or polytetramethylene ether glycol,(b) from 0.5 to 1.6 parts by weight of water,(c) one or more catalysts, preferably a tertiary amine, in an amount of from 0.01 to 2.0 parts by weight and(d) assistants, with or without additives, is reacted in a closed mold, while undergoing densification, the surface temperature of the inner wall of the mold being from 50.degree. to 70.degree.
