Abstract: The present invention provides a process for obtaining an extract from peach flower extract (Primus persica L.) for skin cosmetic use, a peach flower extract obtainable by the process and a cosmetic composition comprising the said extract. The invention further provides a method for modulating the SIRT2 expression, a method of treatment designed to reduce and/or correct the signs of aging and photo-aging of the skin and keratinous appendages, and to protect the skin against aggressions due to ultraviolet radiation.

Abstract: A method of stabilizing riboflavin by affixing the riboflavin to at least one substrate for the riboflavin by covalent bonding, hydrogen bonding, Van der Waals forces, or a combination thereof, to form an optically-activated complex, is provided. When activated by absorption of light in the ultraviolet (UV) to visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum the riboflavin in the complex re-emits light of longer wavelength in the blue-green-yellow region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Abstract: Mascara compositions that comprise ammonium styrene/acrylate copolymer and acrylates/VA copolymer as a plasticizer, in an aqueous base. In the concentrations specified, herein, the resulting mascara compositions have various useful properties that can be controlled, such as transition temperature, viscosity, dry time and degree of contraction. Compositions of the invention are hydrophilic. Nevertheless, after application, the compositions dry to a contracted hydrophobic state that retains curl. The applied composition resists transfer, smudging, flaking, humidity, oil and sebum, making them very suitable as 24 hour long wear cosmetics. Some preferred embodiments comprise an unusually high concentration of nylon fibers, which enhances volume and lengthening of eyelashes.
Abstract: A heating system comprising a packette for heating a mask, wipe or towelette. In preferred embodiments, the packette comprises printed heating elements, printed circuit elements and a means of connecting to a power source. Power may be supplied through a USB-type connector or a handheld power supply that is custom designed to work with the heating packette.

Abstract: A dual pump dispensing system that features a reservoir within a reservoir arrangement. Each reservoir holds a different product, and has a separate pump dispenser. The pump dispensers are housed in a cartridge so that much of those mechanisms are not visible to the consumer. The pumps are sized to dose a specified ratio of each product, and the products are only mixed at the exit orifice of the nozzle or on the skin.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for applying a cosmetic composition to hair. The method comprises the steps of removing a cosmetic composition from a sealed container, the composition comprising: a post-foaming emulsion comprising a weak acid, a weak base, a fatty acid, and a volatile buffering agent; a film forming agent; and an aqueous carrier; applying said composition to one or more eyelashes; and during or after said application to said one or more eyelashes, said cosmetic composition forms a foam, said foam resulting from the release of a gas, said gas being a reaction product of said post-foaming emulsion, and said reaction commencing after the evaporation of said volatile buffering agent, upon exposure of said cosmetic composition to atmospheric conditions.
Abstract: A delayed release delivery system comprises a hydrophilic core particle having surface pores and containing a liquid. The particle is encapsulated in a polymer having a hydrophobic backbone and hydrophilic pendant groups. At least some of the surface pores adjacent the hydrophilic pendant groups are blocked in the presence of water and unblocked in the absence of water.
