Patents Assigned to Electric Data Systems
  • Patent number: 8726351
Abstract: Systems and/or methods for controlling access to a plurality of records and/or documentary materials to be persisted in an electronic archives system are provided. The plurality of records and/or documentary material and all preserved information may be stored and accessed on the basis of user and/or object attributes. The user attributes include group affiliation, ownership, and state (e.g., workflow step and time of day). The object attributes include group affiliation, business role, clearance or access level, and network address from which access is requested. Access to the plurality of records and/or documentary material can be obtained both from within a single security domain as well as across more than one security domain.

  • Patent number: 6791471
Abstract: Wireless communication between vehicles may permit position information about one vehicle to be communicated directly to another vehicle. Such an information exchange between vehicles may increase the awareness of an operator of a vehicle to other vehicles in the surrounding environment and may help a vehicle operator operate the vehicle more safely. Vehicles may share through the use of wireless communications position, direction, speed, or other information, such as the deployment of safety devices or the presence of particular types of vehicles (e.g., an emergency vehicle or school bus). The vehicle that receives a wireless communication compares the position, direction, and speed of incoming information from another vehicle to the vehicle's own speed, direction, and position to determine whether action is required.

  • Patent number: 6032153
Abstract: One aspect of the invention is a method for maintaining persistence in a shared object system. A request is received to update a persistent record of a shared object's state wherein the persistent record of the shared object's state is contained in a database. At least one SQL statement is dynamically generated in response to the request. That statement is generated using a data structure comprising data reflecting at least a portion of the state of the shared object and a map associating attributes to the shared object with the location of those attributes in the database. An SQL statement is then sent to the database.
