Abstract: A blocking device for selectively restricting the movement of a multi-position electric switch between predetermined closed positions without restricting the switch's movement to an open non-conducting position. The blocking device includes a restrictive arm which can be quickly and easily connected or disengaged from the switch and further includes a retainer for insuring correct connection of the arm to the switch. The blocking device also serves as an indicator of the position currently occupied by the switch.

Abstract: A dead front fuse mounting assembly supports the fuse on a hingedly mounted plate which can pivot through a 90.degree. arc to allow access to the fuse. The plate can be latched in a circuit closed position and cannot be released therefrom until a high voltage elbow connector is removed from across a latch operator. Pivotal motion of the plate from the closed circuit position disengages the fuse from a second high voltage contact and releases a shutter to isolate this contact from the remainder of the fuse enclosure. The shutter is opened when the plate pivots back to its closed circuit position.

Abstract: A multi-position contact for use in high voltage switchgear utilizes a multi-laminar electrical contact and a movable contact blade to maintain continuous electrical contact with a first circuit component and a switch blade assembly movable concomitantly with said movable contact blade for selective connection to second or third circuit components.

Abstract: A switch operating mechanism for a multi-position switch utilizes a stored energy member to store input energy applied to the mechanism and then release the stored energy to move an associated switch responsive to a predetermined input to the mechanism. A gradual application of force results in a rapid discharge of energy to move the switch.

Abstract: A barrier for use in electrical terminal cabinets includes a set of barrier guides permanenty affixed to the rear of the cabinets and a set of inwardly extending support rails mounted to the sidewalls of the cabinet. A modular barrier assembly slidably engages the support rails and can be moved into or out of the cabinet without disassembly.

Abstract: Load break air switch incorporating quick make and break mechanical operator that includes arming and load release levers rotatable about separate parallel axes. A pair of compression springs are connected in uni-directional force transmitting relation between the arming and load release levers and are respectively disposed on opposite sides of the plane defined by the foregoing axes. Latching structure is provided to prevent rotation of the load release lever upon rotation of the arming lever until a predetermined amount of energy is stored in one of the compression springs. Improved pivot structure is provided for providing enhanced current transfer, the pivot incorporating a louvered contact band.
