Patent number: 7026809Abstract: The invention relates to a position and/or speed sensor including a mobile target (2) with at least one tooth, a first permanent magnet (5), at least one second permanent magnet (11), and a probe (4) sensitive to the direction and intensity of a magnetic induction, and placed along an axis OZ such that when there is no adjacent tooth, the magnetic induction created by the first magnet passes through the probe along a direction opposite to the direction of magnetization. Magnetic inductions created by the permanent magnets (5, 11) have approximately equal values but in opposite directions, and in the presence of an adjacent tooth, the absolute value of the variation of the magnetic induction detected by the probe (4) is greater than a trip threshold.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2003Date of Patent: April 11, 2006Assignee: Electricfil IndustrieInventor: Laurent Dufour

Patent number: 6545581Abstract: An ignition unit for at least two sparkplugs of an internal combustion engine, the unit being in the form of a box having therein a reception cavity receiving an electronic printed circuit, a plurality of mutually separate housings extending side by side transversely relative to the reception cavity, a separating partition disposed between the reception cavity and the housings which defines a through opening between each of the housings and the reception cavity, and a plurality of ignition coils, each mounted in a corresponding one of the housings. Each ignition coil is fitted with a primary connector including 1) a fixing member for fixing the ignition coil to the box to enable the ignition coil to be mounted in a corresponding one of the housings, and 2) connection terminals between the ignition coil and the printed circuit.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2000Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Assignee: L'Electricfil IndustrieInventors: Thierry Munsch, Raphaƫl Monavon

Patent number: 6252394Abstract: A sensor for detecting the angular position of a rotary drive shaft is disclosed which includes a stator, a rotor connected to the stator by a ball joint and including a moving target, and a drive shaft connected to the rotor. The moving target passes through a detection system and produces a signal as a function of its position. Variations in the sensor output signal due to misalignment of the rotor and the drive shaft are minimized by locating the moving target close to the axis of rotation of the ball joint.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1998Date of Patent: June 26, 2001Assignee: L'Electricfil IndustrieInventors: Pierre Roze, Denis Faure

Patent number: 5192877Abstract: As a component belonging to a class of components having hysteresis cycles of similar characteristics, the component of the invention subjects group of probes, in the absence of field-disturbing members situated in relationship with the probes, to a determined induction field so that a "bias" induction difference (B.sub.O) appears between the two groups, which difference is not less than the value of the high switchover threshold (B.sub.H), or not greater than the value of the low switchover threshold (B.sub.B), or else lies between the switchover thresholds (B.sub.H and B.sub.B), thereby obtaining a signal in a determined logic state at the output from the hysteresis level comparator in spite of induction difference dispersions lying between the minimum value of the low threshold (B.sub.Bmin) and the maximum value of the high threshold (B.sub.Hmax). The invention is applicable to differential detection Hall effect sensors.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1991Date of Patent: March 9, 1993Assignee: l'Electricfil IndustrieInventors: Jean Bittebierre, Philippe Biton

Patent number: 4680543Abstract: An electromagnetic pickup includes an insulating body that mounts a coil of wire surrounding a spool portion at one end of the body. A magnetic element is disposed within an axial passage through the body, including its spool portion. A sleeve-like molded plastic cover surrounds the spool portion and other portions of the body, and an encapsulation occupies the spaces within the cover that are not occupied by the body and elements mounted thereto. One end of the magnetic element extends to one end of the body and abuts the inner surface of the wall that encloses one end of the cover. The other end of the body is provided with a self-centering flange that engages the inner surface of the cover, and the other end of the cover is provided with the flange that is embedded in the encapsulation that also forms a seat external of the cover.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1986Date of Patent: July 14, 1987Assignee: Societe a Responsabilite Limitee l'Electricfil IndustrieInventor: Isak Kohen
