    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining a polarization state of an input RF signal. Two distinct RF antennas receive the input RF signal and output a first antenna signal and a second antenna signal. Polarizsations of the first and second antenna signals are orthogonal to one another. The first antenna signal is converted to a first optical signal, and the first optical signal is passed through a first optical signal to introduce a first delay. The delayed first optical signal is converted to a first RF signal. An amplitude ratio and a phase difference are determined between the first RF signal and a second RF signal that is associated with the second antenna and optionally includes a second delay. A polarization angle or polarization type of the input RF signal is determined based on the amplitude ratio and phase difference of the first and second RF signals.

An example flat-plate antenna includes an integral body defining a top portion, a bottom portion opposite the top portion, and one or more side portions extending therebetween. The body further defines a channel at least partially enclosed by the body. The flat-plate antenna further includes a plurality of top openings formed in the top portion and one or more bottom openings formed in the bottom portion. The body is configured such that the plurality of top openings are in communication with the one or more bottom openings via the channel such that, in operation, electromagnetic radiation may pass therebetween, such as generated by or received by a radio transceiver communicably coupled with the flat-plate antenna via the bottom portion of the body.

A plurality of second converters receives a minimum of the first optical signal via a first optical channel that introduces a first delay and the second optical signal via a second optical channel that introduces a second delay. The second converter outputs a first RF signal that corresponds to the RF modulation on the first optical signal and a second RF signal that corresponds to the RF modulation on the second optical signal. A switch serially receives, from the second converter outputs, the first RF signal and the second RF signal.

    Abstract: A system and method for automatically aligning immersive displays, including helmet-mounted displays, such displays creating composite images from at least one image source. A gimbal-mounted camera/rangefinder apparatus is used to create a high resolution three-dimensional (3D) map of the screen surface which, in turn, is used to generate geometric corrections of projected image segments. The rangefinder is typically a laser rangefinder and the laser element thereof can draw display channel outlines of the screen. The gimbal-mounted camera/rangefinder is used to automatically analyze a test pattern projected onto the screen, typically without geometric correction. Each defined point of the test pattern may then be “moved” to its proper location on the 3D screen map. Video signal processing, performed either in software or hardware, accomplishes geometric correction, edge blending, color (e.g., gamma) correction and intensity matching. Unique polygonal blend regions are used for edge blending.

The first axis extends generally longitudinally along the deck and the second axis extends generally laterally across the deck and generally normal to the first axis. The deck is also slidable generally along the first axis relative to the frame and/or one of the supports. The deck thus may be adjusted about multiple axes and may be moved forwardly or rearwardly relative to the frame to position the deck in a desired location and orientation relative to the frame.
