Abstract: A ZnO surge arrester for high-temperature operation is characterized in that a grain boundary layer between ZnO grains thereof contains a BaTiO3-based positive temperature coefficient thermistor material, which takes 10-85 mol % in the overall grain boundary layer, and when operating temperature raises, the positive temperature coefficient thermistor material in the grain boundary layer has its resistance sharply increasing with the raising temperature, so as to compensate or partially compensate decrease in resistance of components in the grain boundary layer caused by the raising temperature, thereby making the resistance of the grain boundary layer in the ZnO surge arrester more independent of temperature. The ZnO surge arrester thus is suitable for operation where a maximum operating temperature is higher than 125° C., or even higher than 150° C.

  • Patent number: 8485137
Abstract: The present invention relates to a combustion control device incorporated in an apparatus such as water heater and provides the combustion control device having an improved configuration with a main controller and a sub controller, capable of employing a microcomputer with lower capability as the sub controller, and ensuring higher safety than ever before. Signals indicating a combustion state of a combustion apparatus are inputted into the main controller 35 and the sub controller 36 in parallel. Upon fulfillment of a predetermined condition of stopping, the main and sub controllers 35 and 36 each output a stop signal to cut off a current to be supplied to a device driving circuit 42. The conditions of stopping in outputting of the stop signal by the main and sub controllers are such that the sub controller 36 is less apt to execute the cutoff than the main controller 35.

  • Publication number: 20130157139
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an anode active material, a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery, and a manufacturing method thereof. The anode active material of this disclosure comprises a carbon-based material, and a coating film formed on the surface of the carbon-based material by performing heat treatment using an ammonia-based compound. The coating film may be formed on the surface of the carbon-based material through a thermal decomposition method using 10% or less by weight of the ammonia-based compound with respect to the carbon-based material. Since the surface of the carbon-based material is thermally treated using the ammonia-based compound, side reaction of the carbon-based material with an electrolyte at the surface thereof can be suppressed and structural stability can be enhanced, thereby improving battery lifespan and high-rate capability of a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery.

  • Patent number: 8467443
Abstract: An object priority order compositor for an MPEG-4 player having a drawing node list generator including an object priority order register, a drawing node extractor, a field-node extractor, and an object priority order manager including an object rendering sequencer and an object instruction manager. The drawing node list generator makes a list by receiving a scene tree from a parser manager and extracting drawing nodes necessary for presentation on a screen from the scene tree by a depth first search. The object priority order manager handles insert, delete, and replace commands received from scene constitution information to determine priority order of an object. The object priority order compositor performs presentation of objects based on a priority order for objects when a scene change, in which an object is inserted, deleted, or replaced in real time by user interaction, as required in an MPEG-4 scene of high capacity multimedia objects.
