Abstract: There is provided a movement detection method of a mobile node in a DSMIP6 environment. The movement detection method includes performing neighbor unreachability detection in a network to which a mobile node moves, confirming network movement detection and simultaneously performing IPv4 address allocation when the neighbor unreachability detection fails, performing router discovery at the same time as the IPv4 address allocation, recognizing the movement detection into the IPv4 network when the IPv4 address allocation succeeds, and recognizing the movement detection into the IPv6 network when the router discovery and the IPv6 router discovery succeed. Therefore, the movement detection method can be useful to continuously perform operations as defined in a DSMIP6 specification so as to confirm whether the network to which the mobile node moves is an IPv6 network or an IPv4 network and detect movement to the confirmed network, and to perform a binding update in time.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for detecting a packet of a zero-padded OFDM signal, which are capable of determining if a packet exists in a reception (RX) signal by comparing a cross-correlation value of an OFDM signal delayed by a predetermined sample time, e.g., a zero-padded sample time, with a power value of the RX signal, thereby increasing a packet detection probability and preventing a false alarm. The packet detecting apparatus includes: a cross-correlation calculator for calculating a cross-correlation value of a reception signal received from the outside and delaying the calculated cross-correlation value by a predetermined sample time; a power calculator for calculating a power value of the reception signal; and a packet detector for determining if a packet exists in the reception signal by comparing the delayed cross-correlation value with the calculated power value, and detecting the corresponding packet.

Abstract: A system and method of controlling transmission of adaptive media over handover performed between heterogeneous networks are disclosed. When a mobile terminal moves, it detects the necessity of handover between the heterogeneous networks, determines a target network to which it may perform handover, and transmits handover information to an adaptive media server that controls a transmission rate of adaptive media to previously inform about the handover. Then, the adaptive media adjusts a transmission rate of the adaptive media by using the received handover information, and when the mobile terminal performs handover to the target network, it can receive the adaptive media from the adaptive media server. Accordingly, when the mobile terminal using a real time multimedia service in a wireline/wireless environment in which various accessing techniques are integrated performs handover between heterogeneous networks, a change in quality of experience (QoE) sensed by subscribers due to the handover can be reduced.
