Patents Assigned to Electronics Controls Company
  • Patent number: 6720883
Abstract: A warning device including a status and function indicator circuit for indicating the status and function of the warning device. In a visual warning device such as a strobe light, the status and function indicator circuit includes a status output device such as an LED. The LED and associated circuitry are configured to indicate both proper operation of the visual warning device and, in the event of a device failure, will indicate whether the fault lies with circuitry for the visual warning device or simply with a warning output device.

  • Patent number: 6292097
Abstract: A visual alert system including at least two visual alert devices conductively connected to form an array. Each visual alert device includes a control circuit. The control circuits of the visual alert devices are connected by a flash mode interconnect line. The control circuits, thus interconnected are capable of sensing changes in voltage between the first and second control circuits across the flash mode interconnect line and therefore between the first and second visual alert devices. The visual alert devices, through their respective control circuits, may be programmed and selectively switched to operate in a variety of flash modes including an alternating mode or a synchronous mode.

  • Patent number: 6211774
Abstract: An electronic horn for mimicking a multi-frequency tone includes a wave signal generator for generating an input signal and a complex signal generator for generating a complex signal across a transducer to mimic the sound and sound intensity of an electromechanical horn. The complex signal generator produces a complex output signal which may derive from a plurality of product signals, each product signal being derived by processing the input signal. A first product signal drives the transducer through a full bridge motor driver circuit and a second product signal is converted to a control signal by the signal processor circuit. The control signal is used to control the full bridge motor driver circuit to drive the transducer.

  • Patent number: 6166623
Abstract: A modular audible warning device includes a primary housing which houses the core components of an audible warning device: a transducer and control circuitry. In one embodiment of the invention, the primary housing is insertable within a variety of secondary housings having a variety of configurations in order to accommodate the demand for differing product configurations and applications. Additionally, the primary housing may be adapted for direct mounting within an aperture formed within a planar member, for instance, a body panel or bumper.

  • Patent number: 5315288
Abstract: Two volume levels may be produced in a backup alarm merely by reversing polarity of the DC power connections to the circuit of the present invention. The magnitude of output power produced by any device powered by a DC source may be switched between two levels merely by reversing polarity of the power source connected to the device when used with a circuit of the present invention.
