Patent number: 5537519Abstract: A system and method converts from the boundary representation ("b-rep") of a solid object to the constructive solid geometry ("CSG") representation thereof. The b-rep of a three-dimensional object is converted into a CSG expression by constructing a set of separators through triples of vertices on the face of the solid, until there is a separator passing through every vertex of the face. A separator is constructed through every planar edge of the face and containing the planar edge. For each nonplanar edge of the solid, one or more separators are constructed to separate the edge from the rest of the curve on the face. In this case, construction of nonplanar separating surfaces may be required. Each of these constructions are repeated for every face of the given boundary representation of the solid object.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1993Date of Patent: July 16, 1996Assignee: Electronic Data Systems CorporationInventors: Donald L. Patent number: 5335265Abstract: This apparatus operates to discern temporal and spatial anomalies in the use of subscriber numbers in the cellular mobile telephone system. The detection of such anomalies is typically indicative of attempted fraudulent access to the cellular mobile telephone system via cloning of valid subscriber numbers. The detection of a bogus subscriber unit is accomplished by recording the call origination and termination patterns associated with the subscriber number. The cloning detection apparatus makes use of call origination data to identify concurrent call originations or receptions for a single subscriber number. However, such events represent only a small portion of the fraudulent calls and a more extensive analysis is typically required to identify subscriber number cloning. This further analysis includes a spatial analysis of successive call activity for a subscriber number.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1993Date of Patent: August 2, 1994Assignee: Electronic Data Systems CorporationInventors: John R.
