Abstract: A security system is disclosed for enabling remote secure operation, monitoring and management of security aspects. The system may include a gateway connected to one or more peripheral devices. The gateway may have a TCP/IP based interface, or any other suitable communication interface, for communicating with an application server enabled to be a single junction for data transfer between the gateway and end user(s), the application server providing secure communications between end user(s) and the gateway. A web server may optionally be functionally connected to the application server to enable web end user(s) to access the gateway, and there through peripheral device(s) connected to the gateway. Users may access the security system by using mobile phones, laptops, and the like, by using wired or wireless communication technologies. Peripheral device(s) may be a digital camera or IP camera and users may access the security system for displaying pictures or video images originating from these cameras.

  • Patent number: 6774791
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting movement of an infrared-radiating object within a monitored space is provided. The method of includes exposing the monitored space to a passive infrared sensor having a first sensor element generating a first polarity signal when its field of view senses an infrared-radiating moving object, and a second sensor element generating a second polarity signal when its field of view senses an infrared-radiating moving object and determining the direction of movement of the detected object from the relative sequential order of the first and second polarity signals, for example for detecting intrusions in the monitored space to determine whether the movement direction is a hostile direction or a friendly direction.

  • Patent number: 6642846
Abstract: An intrusion detector for detecting an intrusion into a protected space overlying a predetermined surface is provided. In one embodiment, the intrusion detector includes a housing to be mounted over the surface and including an infrared radiation sensor for sensing moving infrared radiation sources, and a transparent window thereover, a plurality of lens elements formed in the transparent window each oriented to receive infrared radiation from a moving infrared radiation source within a predetermined viewing zone of the protected space and to transmit infrared radiation from said source to the sensor; an alarm; and a control system for receiving the electrical output of the sensor and for outputting an alarm signal to the alarm when an infrared radiation source is detected simultaneously within at least two of the predetermined viewing zones.

  • Patent number: 6509835
Abstract: A method of filtering an input signal which includes noise cyclically repeating at a known noise frequency, to substantially remove said noise from the input signal is provided. The method includes sampling the input signal at a frequency corresponding to a whole multiple “N” of the noise frequency; sequentially storing the samples in 0-N storage devices; sequentially subtracting the sample in each storage device from the sample previously stored in the Nth storage device preceding the respective storage device, to thereby produce for each sample, a difference sample in which the cyclically repeating noise is effectively cancelled from the respective sample; and sequentially outputting the difference samples to produce an output signal from which the cyclically repeating noise has been substantially removed.
