  • Patent number: 5832442
Abstract: A method is disclosed of modification of parameters of audio signals by dividing a digital signal converted from an original analog signal into sound frames, modifying a pitch and a playing rate of the digital signal within a frame and subsequent successive splicing a last modified frame with a first non-modified frame and calculating the mean absolute error to define the best splicing point in terms of producing minimal or no audible noise such that various sections of sound signals can be spliced together to achieve pitch and playing rate modification. An apparatus is also disclosed for implementing the method, the apparatus comprising input and output amplifiers, a low pass filter at the input and a low pass filter at the output, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, and a pitch shifting processor.

  • Patent number: 5708530
Abstract: A multi-zoned dichroic mirror for use in a liquid crystal projection system that is capable producing projected images having improved color uniformity including a dichroic mirror which is divided into at least two regions of a first and a second region, a first region on the dichroic mirror that is coated with a first dichroic coating which compensates for color variations caused by variations in the incident angles of the incident light beams in a positive manner, and a second region on the dichroic mirror coated with second dichroic coating which compensates for color variation caused by variations in the incident angles of the incident light beams in a negative manner.

  • Patent number: 5598375
Abstract: An address decoder having non-overlapping word line enable is disclosed having a dynamic logic gate-based decoding section. The decoder includes a deadtime signal generator that produces a pulse at the rising edge of every input clock cycle. The decoder further includes a transmission gate responsive to the deadtime signal for selectively passing the decoder section output signal to a latch. The decoder further includes a NOR logic having an output for coupling to a memory word line which is gated by the deadtime signal to disable the output while the transmission gate passes the decoder output to the latch. When the deadtime pulse transitions to a low state, the latch captures the decoder output signal and enables the output of the NOR gate.

  • Patent number: 5580387
Abstract: A corrugated waveguide is disclosed comprising a cylindrical body with outer and inner surfaces. The inner surface is provided with plurality of ridges uniformly spaced around the inner surface. Presence of 2n ridges secures the formation of microwaves with stable TE.sub.n1 modes where n is an integer and n>1. Disclosed also is an electron cyclotron resonance system for plasma processing of which system the corrugated waveguide described in the above is a part.

  • Patent number: 5548251
Abstract: A low noise high-frequency clock generator using a low speed voltage controlled oscillator which includes 2m differential delay elements connected in series in an inverting configuration, where m is an integer greater than 0. The output of the 2mth delay element is coupled to the input of the first delay element in a non-inverting configuration. M 2-input exclusive NOR gates are provided wherein respective input pairs are taken from positive terminal inputs of adjacent delay elements. The clock generator also includes an m-input OR gate coupled to the m-outputs from the respective m exclusive NOR gates for generating the clock generator output signal. The delay elements have a variable delay associated therewith controlled by a control delay signal DCS. Changes in the delay associated with each delay element changes the frequency of the clock generator output signal wherein the output frequency is equal to 1/(2d), where d is the time delay associated with each delay element.
