Patent number: 6431043Abstract: A portable machine tool, especially a portable table saw, having an outer casing, an electric drive motor (2) arranged in the casing, and a connecting device (3) for connecting the drive motor to a power supply network having a low system frequency, and a tool (4), especially a circular saw blade, that is driven by the drive motor (2) in which the drive motor is a synchronous or asynchronous motor, the connecting device is a frequency converter (5) which converts the low system frequency of the power supply network to a high operating frequency, the drive motor operating at a high speed corresponding to that of the high operating frequency while the tool is driven at a lower speed suitable for machining purposes by being coupled to the drive motor via a speed-reducing gear train (6).Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2000Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Assignee: Elektra Beckum AGInventors: Bernhard Niemann, Hermann Rugen

Patent number: 6370997Abstract: A transportable circular table saw having an exterior housing (1) with a tabletop (4) forming a workpiece support surface (3) that is irreversibly arranged in the exterior housing (1), and a saw unit (7) arranged underneath the tabletop (4) with a drive motor and a circular saw blade (10) protruding into the tabletop (4) from below through a saw slot (9), with the exterior housing (1) in plan view being approximately square in shape. The sawing unit (7) is slidable relative to the tabletop (4) in a pulling direction, as a result of which the circular saw blade (10) moves in the saw slot (9) in the pulling direction, and in relation to an axis of a mitre cut in the pulling direction, preferably being able to be inclined to at least one side. The tabletop (4) forms the workpiece support surface (3) and the saw slot (9), is rotatably held in the exterior housing (1) on an axis perpendicular to the workpiece support surface (3), in particular in a surrounding top (14) of the exterior housing (1).Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1999Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Elektra Beckum AGInventors: Hermann Rugen, Peter Landsberg, Klaus Raasch, Andreas Afting

Patent number: 5684345Abstract: A single phase induction motor for driving a high pressure cleaning device. The induction motor has a stator (1) with a drive shaft (2) and a rotor (4) which is located on the shaft (2). High pressure pump (3) of the high pressure cleaning device is driven by the shaft (2). A muscle-powered starting aid (5, 18) is used to activate an on-off switch (11) of the single phase induction motor. Alternatively, the on-off switch (11) can be activated independently of the starting aid (5, 18) or via an electrical starting aid (B). In accordance with preferred embodiments, the muscle-powered starting aid can be a rope pull starter (5) or a kickstarter (18) and may act directly on the shaft (2) or via a transmission.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1995Date of Patent: November 4, 1997Assignee: Elektra Beckum AGInventor: Wolfgang Suttner

Patent number: 5667141Abstract: A high pressure cleaning means is described with a preferably portable housing having a high pressure pump (6) and an electric motor drive (7) for the high pressure pump (6), the motor drive having an electric drive motor (8) with a drive shaft (9) connected to the high pressure pump (6). The motor drive (7) has at least a second electric drive motor (11) and the electric motors (8, 11, 12) of motor drive (7) are coupled to one another so as to drive the high pressure pump (6) jointly. The use of universal motors as the electric drive motors (8, 11, 12) is especially advantageous. The motor arrangement is also applicable to hand saws, water pumps, shredders, vacuums (wet/dry vacuums, leaf vacuums) and various other assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1995Date of Patent: September 16, 1997Assignee: Elektra Beckum AGInventor: Wolfgang Suttner

Patent number: 5525046Abstract: A high pressure cleaning device with a housing (1) containing a driving motor and a pump for cleaning fluid, in particular water, and a bypass valve arrangement, with a valve pistol (2) having a cleaning lance (3) or the like connected thereto, and with a high pressure line (4) leading to valve pistol (2) from a high pressure connection (4) on a housing (1). When the valve pistol (2) is closed, the pump continues to run and circulates, via the bypass valve arrangement, a finite, small volume of cleaning fluid. When the valve pistol (2) is in the closed position, a leakage flow passage having a very high flow resistance remains open, so that, even when the valve pistol (2) is in the closed position, a small leakage flow of cleaning fluid constantly drains out, and is replaced by a corresponding amount of fluid which flows in on the intake side of the pump and cools the circulating fluid.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1996Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Assignee: Elektra Beckum AGInventor: Lothar Hartmann
