    Abstract: Positioning device equipped with a linear scanning device and at least one support with at least one contrasting code line provided on it. A useful part thereof is directed at an angle other than zero and 90 degrees with regard to the scanning device. At least one extra line forms a line of reference and forms an angle other than zero and 90 degrees with the code line, whereby the relative position of the above-mentioned lines can be read by the scanning device.
