Abstract: A system and method for monitoring and controlling a process workflow, e.g., a shop floor, are provided. The system and method of the present disclosure enable, for example, a manufacturing facility to monitor a workflow process to afford better control over the workflow process and avoid duplication of efforts, e.g., entering of the same information into disparate systems. The system and method provide for selecting at least one process unit, at least one activity and at least one material; verifying the selected at least one material is available for production; scheduling use of the selected at least one processing unit and determining an amount of labor needed based on the selected at least one process unit and at least one activity; and providing an indication to commence production upon verification of the availability of the selected at least one material and the needed labor.
