    Abstract: A battery management system is provided that controls at least a stack of battery cells. The battery management system may detect stack voltage and current. Characteristics of each battery cell in the stack may be monitored. The battery management system may detect ground fault within the stack of battery cells. Communication breakdown and/or failure in the battery management system may also be detected.
