Patent number: 8727384Abstract: A coupler for coupling a first fluid delivery device to a second fluid delivery device includes a base adapted for mounting at one of the opening of first fluid delivery device, a locking member coupled to the base about the base's longitudinal axis, with the locking member being movable along the base along the base's longitudinal axis between a locking position and an unlocking position. A connector member having a body adapted for releasably mounting at one of the openings of the second fluid delivery device is releasably engageable with the locking member and with the base wherein the fluid flow passageways of the base and the connector member are in fluidic communication.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2009Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: Kyle Alden Stoops

Patent number: 4249717Abstract: A valve including a resilient seal which contacts in a sealing relationship an annular valve seat having an offset annular surface area at the valve inlet against which the resilient seal of the valve is compressed by an overlying rigid member to reduce the liquid pressure against the valve seal, thereby easing the effort to close the valve.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1979Date of Patent: February 10, 1981Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: William S. Thompson

Patent number: 4103868Abstract: A ball valve to accommodate liquid flow having a rotatable ball element formed with a plurality of reaction faces which when contacted by liquid flow through the valve serve to generally counterbalance the normal self-closing forces exerted upon the ball element by the liquid flow.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1976Date of Patent: August 1, 1978Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: William S. Thompson

Patent number: 4008735Abstract: A fire valve having a cooperating valve seat and shiftable valve part. The valve part is carried by a floating valve stem. The first valve includes a piston and cylinder combination which is operatively associated with the valve stem and which causes the valve part to be selectively spaced from the valve seat in response to fluid pressure in the valve.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1974Date of Patent: February 22, 1977Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: William S. Thompson

Patent number: 3994255Abstract: A skirt part is secured for rotation with the stem of a valve, overlying a part of the valve housing. This part of the valve housing carries a rotatable ring which includes a tab. The tab protrudes through a slot in the side of the skirt part. As the stem is rotated to open or close the valve, the skirt part shifts both longitudinally and rotatively relative to the valve housing part to cause the ring to rotate about its valve part with its tab being positioned at various indicative locations within the skirt part slot. In this manner the location of the tab within the skirt part slot provides a visual indication of the operational status of the valve.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1976Date of Patent: November 30, 1976Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: William Stanley Thompson

Patent number: RE29717Abstract: A fire hose nozzle having a tubular body part and a pressure responsive valve assembly shiftable in the body part. A barrel member spacedly encircles parts of the pressure responsive valve assembly and is shiftable toward and away from the valve head of the assembly for the purpose of allowing flushing of the valve.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1976Date of Patent: August 1, 1978Assignee: Elkhart Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: William S.
