  • Patent number: 5398928
Abstract: A football having an end appendage comprising at least one long, narrow strip of a flexible sheet material, e.g., cloth of flexible plastic, which functions as a tail when the ball is thrown or kicked and which provides directional stability for the football while in flight. When multiple strips are used which are formed of a rigidly flexible sheet such as MYLAR, the appendage also functions as a sound generator. When the football is thrown in a normal manner, the tail extends backwards, providing a slight drag to cause the back tip of the ball to align itself with the front rip, thereby resulting in the straight and accurate flight of the ball. One end of the appendage is preferably detachably/attached to an end of the football by interlocking hook and loop material, commonly known as VELCRO.

  • Patent number: 5366402
Abstract: A toy assembly that has a bubble generating machine which can be coupled to a variety of existing bicycles and tricycles. The bubble machine includes a housing which contains a pair of rings that can move in and out of a reservoir filled with bubble liquid. The rings move adjacent to a fan which blows air through the rings to create a plurality of bubbles. Both the rings and the fan are coupled to an electric motor which can be energized by depressing a button The button is also connected to an electronic assembly which emits sounds when the button is depressed. The button is typically located on the bike, so that the child can generate bubbles and noises while driving the vehicle. The assembly also includes a bracket which can be attached to the frame of a vehicle with either a pair of straps, or a pair of screws. The bracket is constructed to be attached to bikes having either tubular or rectangular frames. Extending from the bracket is an adjustable wire that couples the bubble machine to the bike.

  • Patent number: 5360362
Abstract: A toy device that leaves a liquid footprint as the device is moved along a surface. The device includes a housing that resembles a duck. Attached to the bottom of the duck is a roller that can rotate relative to the housing, so that the toy can be pushed or pulled along a sidewalk or other similar surface. The housing is connected to a handle that allows the user, such as a small child, to move the toy along the surface. Attached to the roller are a pair of sponge pads that are constructed to resemble the feet of a duck. The sponge pads are soaked with water and leave a liquid pattern when pressed into contact with a surface. The sponge pads are located on the roller, such that a duck foot shaped pattern is left on the surface each time the user moves the duck and rotates the roller.

  • Patent number: 5256099
Abstract: A hand held toy that releases a fluid when an external pressure is applied to a portion of the toy. The toy includes a cylinder typically shaped as a sword. The sword shaped cylinder has a handle portion that can be easily grasped by a human hand. The cylinder also has a blade portion that is covered by a soft foam material, so that the blade does not injure another participant when struck by the sword. Within the handle portion of the cylinder is a fluid reservoir filled with a pressurized fluid. The reservoir is connected to a valve and a valve piston located at the opposite end of the cylinder. The valve piston and valve are adapted to move from a closed position to an open position, when an external pressure is applied to the piston. Moving the piston and valve into the open position allows fluid to flow from the fluid reservoir, through the valve and into the ambient. The toy also includes a pump connected to the fluid reservoir, so that a user can manually pressurize the fluid.

  • Patent number: 4739985
Abstract: There is disclosed a power unit for twirling a jump rope about a substantially horizontal axis, as in conventional rope jumping, or about a vertical axis to provide an entirely new variation of the game. The power unit includes a stand with a vertical standard which supports a motorized drive with an output shaft on which is mounted a crank element. One end of a jump rope is attached to the crank element, which twirls the jump rope. The opposite end of the jump rope is secured to a stationary support, e.g., fence post, side of a building, etc. The power unit can also be removed from the vertical standard and seated in a recess in the base of the stand with the drive shaft vertically oriented, whereby the crank element is rotationally driven about a vertical axis. A short rope is secured to the crank element and a weighted element such as a foam plastic ball is secured to its free end. The players jump the rope as it swung around in a horizontal arc of rotation, thereby providing a new variation of the game.

  • Patent number: 4500104
Abstract: A child's combination toy comprising a bicycle, or tricycle, to the frame of which a seated doll is attached in front of the handlebars. The doll is seated with its hands grasping a miniature set of handlebars and its feet resting on a miniature set of pedals which are coupled to the cycle's front wheel by a gearing and friction-drive arrangement. The legs of the doll are flexible so that they are moved by means of the pedal action in correspondence with the action of the legs of the cycle's rider. The doll also turns in correspondence with the turning of the cycle's handlebars. The actions of the doll cause it to appear to be operating the cycle in conjunction with the actual operator.
