Abstract: Techniques for providing multi-user multi-touch projected capacitive touch sensors are disclosed herein. Some embodiments may include a method that includes receiving a first sense signal from a first sensing array, the first sensing array configured to provide the first sense signal indicating a first touch on a first touch surface of a touch substrate as well as receiving a second sense signal from a second sensing array, the second sensing array configured to provide the second sense signal indicating a second touch on a second touch surface of a second touch substrate occurring concurrently to the first touch. The method may further include determining whether the first touch and the second touch share at least one anti-ghost. The method may also include associating the first touch and the second touch with a common touch entity in response to determining that the first touch and the second touch share the at least one anti-ghost.

Abstract: In an embodiment, methods for managing a point of sale (POS) device are provided. Inventory information may be transmitted to the POS device. The inventory information may be associated with the physical location of the merchant. An application may be pre-loaded on the POS device. The application controls a plurality of functions that are allowed to be performed at the POS device. The application may be updated to control a new function that is allowed to be performed at the POS device. A configuration right may be provided to a merchant server. The configuration right may determine an operation that the merchant is permitted to perform to control the POS device.

Abstract: Some embodiments include a copper (Cu)-doped titania coating layer, including a titania matrix and Cu element doped therein, characterized in that a doping amount of the Cu element is 4-25 mol % of the entire cured coating layer. Some embodiments include a coating composition of the coating layer, and a process for preparing the coating composition, including: (1) preparing a solution comprising a titanium alkoxide and a diluent; (2) preparing a solution comprising a copper precursor compound and a diluent, (3) mixing the above two solutions to obtain a precursor mixture of the composition, wherein in the above steps (1) and (2), the pH value of the solutions is controlled to in the range of 0.1 to 6, and the solutions of steps (1) and (2) are substantially free of water.
Abstract: A system configured to record a quantity of touchscreen/display inputs and a sound level emanating from a monitored environment. A method for adjusting environmental conditions based on a correlation between the quantity of touchscreen/display inputs and sound level. A non-transitory computer readable medium configured to record the touchscreen/display inputs and sound level in the monitored environment, provide correlation data, and recommend adjustments to the monitored environment.

Abstract: A touch sensor includes a resistive layer on a substrate and electrodes on the resistive layer. The electrodes and portions of the resistive layer between the electrodes form series resistor chains disposed at peripheral regions of the touch sensor and surrounding a touch region of the touch sensor. The electrodes are formed by forming a conductive layer on the resistive layer in a thin-film deposition process, followed by patterning the conductive layer into the electrodes. A sheet resistivity of the resistive layer is between about 200? and about 800?. A sheet resistivity of the conductive layer is between about 0.03? and about 0.2?. A ratio of the sheet resistivity of the resistive layer to the sheet resistivity of the conductive layer is between about 2,500 and about 10,000.

Abstract: Method, apparatus and computer program product embodiments are provided for distributing and installing content and settings on client devices without receiving any user input at the client devices, which limit usage of the client device a user at the client device to a first set of the usage activities. A device controller may remotely configure and control client devices by providing instructions and content for distribution to the client devices. The instructions may cause the client devices to install the content on the client devices without requiring any user input to initiate the installation or during installation of the content. The client device may be further configured to allow management of the client device by the device controller.

Abstract: In an embodiment, methods for managing a point of sale (POS) device are provided. A web server may be configured to grant access of a display of the POS device to the user device. The POS device may display a graphical user interface that includes a menu for controlling the display of the POS device. These steps may be in response to a first request. In response to a second request, the POS device may transmit a push notification to the user device. The push notification includes a second menu including a command for controlling an operation of the POS device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of operating an OSD function for a public-place-device. The method includes: detecting a touch input through the touch screen while the OSD function is in the locked state; causing the OSD function to operate in the unlocked state in response to detecting a predetermined touch secret code, so as to output an OSD image on the display and conduct an OSD configuration of the display according to an OSD operation from an external entity; and causing the OSD function to operate in the locked state in response to receiving an OSD locking request while the OSD function is in the unlocked state, so as not to output the OSD image on the display and not to respond to an OSD operation from an external entity. The present disclosure also relates to an OSD system and a self-service device for the public-place-device.
Abstract: In an embodiment, methods for managing a point of sale (POS) device are provided. A web server may receive a request to associate the POS device with a merchant account associated with one or more physical locations. The request may include an identification code of the merchant account. The web server may receive an initialization message from the POS device and the initialization message may indicate a successful login at the POS device. A selected physical location may be received and linked to the POS device based on the identification code of the merchant account and responsive to receiving the selected physical location. An inventory of the selected physical location may then be synced to the POS device.
