  • Patent number: 4095634
Abstract: In the new plant for finger-jointing wood-boards described herein, dielectric heating is applied to the crude ends of the boards before the fingers are cut in them. The ends of the boards only are fed in and out of the dielectric heating means and conveyed to finger cutting means where fingers are cut in the heated ends. Glue is applied to the hot cut fingers and assembling and pressing together of the hot glue-coated fingers is performed rapidly. The curing of the glue is provided by the heat accumulated in the ends of the boards.

  • Patent number: 3994690
Abstract: Universal apparatus for elaborating semiconductive monocrystals according to known methods, comprising a frame, a heating enclosure, heating means located in this enclosure and connected to an appropriate electric current generator, a vacuum system connected to the enclosure, means for admission of gases in the enclosure, and means for supporting, drawing and rotating the crystalline material during its elaboration. The heating enclosure is the same for all the methods inasmuch as the quantities of the crystalline material treated are comparable and comprises a cylindrical body fixed at a predetermined height to the frame for visual observation of the elaboration zone, the body being provided with two lateral flanges for ensuring the connection of the vacuum system or of an eventual generator of radiofrequency, and two caps, one lower cap and one upper cap, the caps being removably connected to the cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 3972684
Abstract: Process and apparatus for fabricating monocrystals from a monocrystaline germ maintained in a lower support by moving a melted portion of a bar of raw material similar to that of the germ, the raw material bar being maintained vertically in an upper support. A heating coil melts the top portion of the germ and the lower end of the raw material bar. The liquid phases obtained by the melting of the germ in the raw material bar to constitute a single molten zone are put into contact. Then the molten zone is stretched so as to obtain a substantially thin thread which becomes solid while crystallizing. The germ-bar unit is gradually moved into the coil radiating field so that a molten zone is held within the inductor field and that a monocrystal is grown from the germ through the thin thread and for producing an initial cone until the base of the cone reaches a predetermined diameter in that the growth is carried on until a cylinder having the diameter of the cone base is obtained.

  • Patent number: 3949337
Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-induction device capable of steep saturation when the instantaneous value of a current flowing therethrough goes beyond a given level. The device comprises an annular magnetic core including at least one toroid coil of magnetic material, an insulating structure for supporting the coils and at least one insulated conductor coil embracing a section of said magnetic core. A tank encloses the core and the coils, the tank being provided with at least one input conduit for feeding a refrigerating fluid to the core and of at least one output conduit for the fluid. The insulated conductor coil is constituted of an insulated flexible cable wound around the insulating structure. The extremities of each conductor coil are so connected with the other conductor coils to effect a desired coupling, the so coupled coils being connected to an utility circuit.
