  • Patent number: 11721945
Abstract: A crimping tool and associated method to create a mechanical and electrical connection between two cable elements. A tool body including a first and second attachment points. A first guidance element arranged at a first distance from the first and second attachment points. A second guidance element arranged at a second distance from the first guidance element. The first and second attachment points are arranged on a first side of the first and second guidance elements. A flexible cable with first and second end parts removably attached to the first and second attachment points, respectively. The cable engages the first and second guidance elements. The cable extends between the first and attachment points such that a loop is formed on a second side of the first and second guidance elements. A powering unit configured to increase the first distance so that a diameter of the loop decreases.

  • Patent number: 10847944
Abstract: Method for monitoring a crimping process including arranging an end fitting or coupling in an intended position between a first and second crimping jaw and initiating the crimping process, continuously detecting the position of the first and second jaw in relation to the other and the applied pressure and store the detected information in a control unit; comparing the detected information regarding position and applied pressure against predetermined characteristics determined for a crimping process with the desired quality; and if the detected information differs from the predetermined characteristics determined for a crimping process with the desired quality more than a predetermined value send alert to indicate that the crimping process not has the desired quality.

  • Patent number: 7754968
Abstract: A branch sleeve adapted to carry out a crimping process around mutually parallel electrically conductive conductor sections. The sleeve includes a first groove-shaped recess which connects with a second groove-shaped recess and with an open part that extends between the recesses. The first recess is adapted to freely embrace or surround a first conductor section, and the second recess is adapted to freely embrace or surround a second conductor section, wherein each of the recesses has an opening area which conforms with and exceeds the largest conductor-section area, for which the sleeve is dimensioned. The sleeve has a cross-sectional shape in the form of a stylized digit “three.” The distribution of material around the recesses of the branch sleeve, or a so-called 3-sleeve, and the form and orientation of the recesses, are mutually adapted to create reducing gatherings of material inter alia adjacent to and at a small distance from said open part, and increasing gatherings of material at the leg parts.
