Patent number: 11815261Abstract: A device for cleaning workpieces with a steam jet is proposed, with a special steam generator in which the steam is generated in a hollow cylindrical core, whose outer side is heated and onto whose inner side the water to be vaporized is sprayed by means of a nozzle. The steam generator has a supplementary heating device with a heatable body having a cavity through which steam generated upstream can flow for post-heating it, in order to generate dry steam for dry steam cleaning. An automated cleaning system with this steam generator is also proposed. The device can be adapted flexibly to the requirements of automated synchronized production and requires, in particular, less energy and floor space. The invention can be used, among other things, in industrial cleaning in manufacturing systems engineering, in particular in the production of automotive parts.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2018Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: ELWEMA AUTOMOTIVE GMBHInventors: Antonio Alvarez, Dietmar Sonntag

Patent number: 10989622Abstract: A flexible leak testing machine for tightness testing of a cylinder head, an engine block or similar workpiece has at least one sealing plate, a machine frame with at least one workpiece holding device for the workpiece and an adjusting device with a first drive for bringing together the workpiece and the sealing plate into a test position. The leak testing machine is flexibly usable in that it includes a changeover device for sealing plates. The changeover device has an adjustable holding arrangement on the machine frame, with sealing plate holders and an associated drive for sealing plate changeover.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2016Date of Patent: April 27, 2021Assignee: ELWEMA AUTOMOTIVE GMBHInventors: Antonio Alvarez, Eberhard Ilg

Patent number: 9221082Abstract: A method and an installation for high-pressure liquid jet deburring are proposed, in which a machined workpiece (44) is deburred by means of a high-pressure/high-speed liquid jet from a high-pressure jet nozzle (30) that is connected to a high-pressure liquid circuit (32). According to the invention, the deburring receptacle (16) has a flooding inlet (48) connected to a liquid supply circuit for flooding the deburring receptacle (16) with cleaning liquid and is configured to contain a bath (46) of cleaning liquid during operation. Prior to deburring, the deburring receptacle (16) is flooded with cleaning liquid via a flooding inlet (48) of the deburring receptacle. Further according to the invention, the machined portion (44) is deburred after flooding and by means of a liquid jet without gas sheath such that the high-pressure/high-speed liquid jet and at least the machined portion are immersed in a bath of cleaning liquid during deburring.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2011Date of Patent: December 29, 2015Assignee: Elwema Automotive GmbHInventor: Antonio Alvarez

Patent number: 8819909Abstract: A tool for attaching valve keys to a valve stem includes an elongated holder with a longitudinal axis, an inner hollow space and an end opening. An elongated core is arranged in the hollow space of the holder coaxially to the longitudinal axis. An elongated recess for receiving a substantial upper portion of the valve stem is provided in the end region of the core coaxially to the longitudinal axis. The recess of the core issues into the end opening and has a depth which is greater than or at least equal to the axial distance between the end and the annular groove of the valve stem. The core at least partially covers the annular groove, such that the valve keys can be supplied to the lateral surface of a valve stem underneath the annular groove and incorrect engagement can be avoided.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2011Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: Elwema Automotive GmbHInventors: Antonio Alvarez, Eberhard Ilg
