Abstract: Apparatus for removing plaque and/or stains from the surfaces of teeth has an elongated handle which contains a removable cartridge for a supply of flowable solid material and whose nozzle defines a mixing chamber receiving solid material from the cartridge and further receiving compressed air from an adapter which is also connectable to a dentist's drill. The adapter further supplies a stream of water which is discharged by the nozzle through a first orifice. A second orifice of the nozzle communicates with and receives from the mixing chamber a mixture of compressed air and solid material.
