  • Publication number: 20170148522
Abstract: Technologies are generally provided for methods and circuitry to rank a large number of cells in a timeframe of about one sense cycle. In some examples, an architecture may be implemented to rank memory cells such as volatile memories, non-volatile memories, and other types of data storage devices, where there may not be an equivalent to threshold voltage. In other examples, an arbitrary group of circuits, such as in neural networks where there may not be an equivalent control gate to set the timing resolution, may be ranked. Relative sense timing may be used to rank the cells having different current carrying abilities. A ramped gate voltage may be used to control the timing resolution and to reduce contention between close separate cells. Digital logic may be used to latch and/or record the rank information.

  • Publication number: 20170116058
Abstract: Techniques described herein generally include methods and systems related to designing and operating a DRAM device that has significantly reduced refresh energy use. A method for designing a DRAM optimizes or otherwise improves the DRAM for energy efficiency based on a measured or predicted failure probability of memory cells in the DRAM. The DRAM may be configured to operate at an increased refresh interval, thereby reducing DRAM refresh energy but causing a predictable portion of the memory cells in the DRAM to leak electrical energy too quickly to retain data. The DRAM is further configured with a selected number of spare memory cells for replacing the “leaky” memory cells, so that operation of the DRAM at the increased refresh interval may result in little or no reduction in capacity of the DRAM.

  • Patent number: 9626773
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for systems and methods effective to detect an alteration in augmented reality. A processor may receive a real image that corresponds to a real object and may receive augmented reality instructions to generate a virtual object. The processor may determine that the virtual object at least partially obscures the real object when the virtual object is rendered on a display. The processor may, upon determining that the virtual object at least partially obscures the real object when the virtual object is rendered on the display, simulate an activity on the real object to produce a first activity simulation and simulate the activity on the virtual object to produce a second activity simulation. The processor may determine a difference between the first and the second activity simulation and modify the augmented reality instructions to generate a modified virtual object in response to the determination of the difference.
