  • Patent number: 10846146
Abstract: A system and method for gas pump or carwash environments which allows new applications to be added to established systems, having a computing system, software techniques, and hardware or software communications interfaces. Various embodiments include methods of separation and interception and the software techniques. One implementation includes separating a first application from an equipped device by interposing a bridge; intercepting, with the bridge, downstream communications to the equipped device from the first application; using the bridge, accepting downstream communications to the equipped device from a second application; with the bridge, locking communications with the equipped device to one of the first application and the second application; and unlocking the communications with the equipped device in response to receiving a status from the equipped device.

  • Patent number: 10725844
Abstract: An automated boot failure prevention and recovery circuit includes one or more non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon, a processor coupled to the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media, and configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to electrically disconnect a memory from a power source, short the memory to ground for a predetermined period of time to adjust memory content from a stochastic state to a machine-tolerable state or an acceptable non-failure state. The processor is further configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to electrically disconnect the memory from the ground, and electrically reconnect the memory to the power source. The processor is further configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to apply a load across the power source, acquire power source information, and notify the user of the battery charge status to preclude loss of memory data.

  • Patent number: 7708019
Abstract: A spinal restraint device includes a body member with a head support portion, a neck support portion, and a back support portion. Left and right body wrap portions extend from the back support portion, and left and right head wrap portions extend from the neck support portion, and these portions respectively wrap around an individual's torso and head and are secured to each other to secure the torso and head against movement. A chest flap section is provided in the left and right body wrap portions for folding away from the individual's chest, for comfort or for better access to the chest area. Declaration buckles and straps are also provided for securing the spinal restraint device (and individual) to a support board or stretcher. Other benefits are realized from the positioning of securing straps and leg straps and the dimensions of the body wrap portions.

  • Patent number: 7641624
Abstract: A femur traction device includes a brace adapted to be secured to a patient's leg, with one end secured above a break in the leg and a hitch end extending below the foot and providing a hitch for a tensioning harness. The tensioning harness is secured between the hitch and the patient's ankle, and straps of the harness may be lengthened or shortened to increase or decrease tension on the leg. The tensioning harness advantageously does not rely on hook-and-loop type fastening means, is color coded to facilitate proper use, and stores in a pouch that forms part of and is secured to the remainder of the tensioning harness.

  • Publication number: 20040003030
Abstract: A mail server with a forwarding function provided for a company mail server or an ISP mail server with which a user belonging to the company is contracted has at least a user table storing user passwords and the like; an address table storing forwarding addresses for each user; regulating tables for regulating the forwarding time periods of each day and the number of characters in a forwarded e-mail for each forwarding address; and a rejection table for preventing some e-mail from being forwarded based on the contents of the e-mail header or the text. Provided a user is authenticated by a password, the user can assign daily forwarding time periods stored in the table for each of a plurality of terminals, such as a home computer, cellular telephone, or other portable terminal. The user can also input weekly conditions for canceling such forwarding. When the mail server receives e-mail, the server references the rejection table to determine whether the incoming e-mail falls within the forwarding conditions.
