  • Patent number: 11708220
Abstract: A low-profile, high-capacity elevator conveying system that is operably able to reduce spatial requirements for the elevating system to not less than about one third (?) of the overall lift height, and preferably having a height to base ratio in a range of between 4:1 to 8:1. The present invention also relates to a high capacity elevator conveying system which can elevate both fine and coarse materials through a range of between 300 ?m and 300 mm, while limiting belt side travel to 150 mm maximum, or +/?75 mm as required to prevent edge damage to the conveyor belts.

  • Patent number: 8985044
Abstract: A watertight door system that provides for subdivision of cargo holds, and having a door frame assembly with a sliding door. Conveyor support stringers are movably connected to the sliding door and conveyor idlers are movably connected to and the conveyor support stringers. A linear actuator associated with the door frame assembly selectively actuates the door between an open and closed position, whereby actuation of the door by the hydraulic cylinder causes the conveyor support stringers to move with the door, and the conveyor idlers to be lowered without removal thereof. Belt side plugs are positioned on either side of the door frame assembly, and can move both inwardly against a conveyor belt edge and outwardly from the conveyor belt edge.

  • Patent number: 8640863
Abstract: A dust and particulate containment system for an open sided gallery conveyor, having a movable curtain for covering the open side of the conveyor and a trough positioned within and extending along a length of the conveyor. A rail is arranged within the conveyor and a carriage, having an opening for transferring bulk materials therethrough via a sealed connection to a cross conveyor, is positioned to move along this rail. Sealing strips in the trough retain the curtain tautly in place and seal the open side of the conveyor. As each carriage moves along the rail, a spreader frame attached to the carriage biasingly opens the sealing strips, and temporarily frees the curtain from being retained, so that the freed curtain is lifted over the carriage to avoid covering the opening in the carriage, so that transfer of bulk materials in the conveyor can occur through the opening.

  • Patent number: 8123053
Abstract: A slewing actuator system for rotating a boom structure comprises a cylindrical support member having lower and upper ends; a drive mounting member; gearing means comprising a gear assembly and at least one gear drive fixable to the drive mounting member and operatively connected to the gear assembly; and a boom support means to releasably secure the boom structure and operatively connectable to the gearing means. In an operating position, the boom support means is mounted proximate the upper end of the cylindrical support member and is rotatable about a substantially vertical axis; the gear assembly is substantially horizontal; and the gearing means imparts rotational movement to the boom support means. The system can include a pedestal surrounding at least part of the cylindrical support member, which can be a tube or kingpin. The compact modular system can be secured to various surfaces including ship decks and land surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6745701
Abstract: A basket gate mechanism, including two opposed gate segments supported at its ends by pairs of different length arms interconnected by a mechanism to coordinate the movement of the segments which are opened and closed by a double acting hydraulic cylinder simplifying the opening and closing of the gate; a linkage device to support the gates minimizing torsional stress resulting from the gate being angled, and a pair of shear plates to control the level of the solids discharged onto the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6676357
Abstract: An arcuate structure for bulk particulate solids which has inner and outer concentric containment walls. The space between the inner and outer walls is subdivided into a plurality of storage subspaces, and covered with a continuous roof. A radial stacker conveyor system receives particulate solids to be stored, and transfers these particulate solids into a selected storage space through access apertures disposed on a circular arc in the roof. To allow the radial stacker to access each roof aperture, it is rotatable about an axis concentric with the inner and outer walls, and the roof apertures are located on an arc concentric with the inner and outer walls. A separate radially located conveyor system is provided beneath the floor of each storage space, by means of which particulate solid stored in any chosen storage subspace can be retrieved through discharge gates located in the floor of each storage space above the conveyor, and transported to a delivery system adjacent to the radial stacker.

  • Patent number: 6179172
Abstract: A basket gate (18) mechanism, typically for use in the cargo holds (12), of bulk carriers (10), includes two opposed gate segments (50, 51) which shut along a central line. Each gate segment (50, 51) is supported at its ends by pairs of different length arms (57, 58, 59, 60), so that when the gate (18) is opened, the segments (50, 51) slope downwardly. The pairs of arms (57, 58, 59, 60) are interconnected by a small and compact direction reversing lever mechanism (61, 62, 63, 64) that ensures coordination of the movement of the segments (50, 51). The arms (57, 58, 59, 60) and the supporting framework (52) are protected by a hog back (53). The gate (18) is opened and closed by an actuating means (65), typically a double acting hydraulic cylinder, located between the gate segments (50, 51) at their midpoints, and directly acting on said said gate segments.
