    Abstract: There is herein disclosed an interdigital capacitor, an inductor, and an LH transmission line and a coupler using the interdigital capacitor and the inductor. The interdigital capacitor comprises two finger sets which are substantially disposed in parallel with each other. Fingers of each finger set are overlapped at outer edges thereof with each other to thereby generate capacitance. The inductor is formed substantially spirally inside the transmission line, so that it can have a large inductance in a compact shape and can be used in a broad frequency band. The LH transmission line has a broad frequency band in a compact shape, which includes interdigital capacitors connected in series with each other and inductors connected in parallel with each other. In addition, the coupler employing the LH transmission line has an excellent couplability.

Each of the layers has the dielectric substances and the magnetic substances of a bar shape alternately arranged therein and has the dielectric substances and the magnetic substances alternately laminated thereon even in a height direction.

Even further, the invention provides a metamaterial antenna using a magneto-dielectric material, the antenna comprising: a substrate which is made up of a magneto-dielectric material and which has an SRR structure inserted thereto; patches with a CRLH-TL structure formed at a predetermined distance above the substrate; and a ground plane formed at a predetermined distance below the substrate.

According to the present invention, switching is performed sub-group by sub-group to reduce the number of switching operations and sub-groups can simultaneously operate to decrease a read time.

According to the present invention, an electric wave fading zone can be obviated and RFID tags can be more efficiently recognized by increasing the number of antenna ports, without generating problems, such as the attenuation of transmission output of a reader and a reduction of the recognition ratio due to a collision between tags resulting from the constant transmission of power of the reader.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses an antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication having a band-stop characteristic. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the UWB antenna is a patch antenna employing microstrip feeding. In order to expand a bandwidth at a low frequency band, a stub is formed in a radiating element. Furthermore, since steps are formed in a ground plane, an antenna characteristic at an intermediate frequency band can be improved and a UWB characteristic can be obtained. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the UWB antenna is a patch antenna employing microstrip feeding and has a recess formed in the ground plane, thereby implementing the UWB characteristic. The antenna of the present invention has an inverse U-shaped slot formed in the radiating element, thus implementing the band-stop characteristic at the UNII band.
