  • Patent number: 6974483
Abstract: A prosthesis device for hip surgery replacement has a main body portion which is implanted in the femur of a patient. A series of adapters are provided from which one is selected. Each adapter has a tapered shank which is received a corresponding tapered bore in the main body portion forming a first lock therein. The adapter has tapered teeth which engage corresponding tapered teeth in the bore in the main body portion, forming a second lock. The adapter is indexed with respect to the main body portion. • Patent number: 6296666
Abstract: A mobile bearing knee prosthesis in which the tibial component includes an upstanding post and a cap provided at an upper end thereof. The cap includes a lip extending laterally outward from the post to give the cap a generally oval shape with a major axis in the A/P direction and a minor axis in the M/L direction. The meniscal insert includes an undercut cavity elongated in the A/P direction in which the post is received. The undercut cavity has a length allowing substantial movement of the post therealong in the A/P direction, and a width allowing only a minor movement of the post in the M/L direction. The insert also includes an upper cutout extending around an upper portion of the cavity which receives therein an adjacent portion of the lip.

  • Patent number: 6235031
Abstract: An intramedullary fracture fixation device is provided which includes an intramedullary rod, a lag screw and a lag screw collar. The rod has a proximal end with a transverse bore extending therethrough. The lag screw has a distal end with coarse bone engaging thread elements and a proximal end with screw threads. When in use, the lag screw is substantially axially aligned with the transverse bore of the rod. The lag screw collar has an outer diameter sized to rotatably fit within the transverse bore of the rod. The collar also has an inner diameter and internal screw threads adapted to cooperate with the screw threads of the proximal end of the lag screw. The lag screw collar may have an increased outer diameter at one end thereof which is at least slightly larger than a diameter of the transverse bore of the rod. The device preferably includes a longitudinal bore which extends through the proximal end of the rod so as to open into the transverse bore.
