Abstract: A steering wheel base is provided for gaming applications and includes a steering wheel shaft, an attachment component, which is fixed to the steering wheel shaft to rotate with the steering wheel shaft and that is configured such that the steering wheel base is directly electrically connectable to electronics of a steering wheel via an electric plug-in contact of the attachment component, and a system including a first mechanical quick coupling element and a second mechanical quick coupling element, which are interchangeably fixable to the attachment component into a fixed position and are adapted for different steering wheel side coupling elements of the steering wheel to provide mechanical quick coupling between the steering wheel base and the steering wheel. A full system including a steering wheel and a steering wheel base, and a method of connecting a steering wheel to a steering wheel base are also provided.
Abstract: A quick coupling system for a steering wheel with a steering wheel-side coupling part and a vehicle-side coupling part, which may be pushed together along a longitudinal axis to mechanically engage with one another in a positive locking manner in an assembled state. The vehicle-side coupling part has an engagement element and the steering wheel-side coupling part has an element complementary thereto, which can engage only with the correct orientation with respect to the longitudinal axial rotational position. The engagement elements are each arranged at least in the front region of the coupling parts and cooperate in such a way that even a partial pushing together in incorrect orientation is prevented.
