Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for generating a stream in accordance with the DVB standard that is understood by a first-generation decoder, typically in accordance with DVB-S/C/T/, and which also enables the deterministic generation of a stream in accordance with the second-generation DVB-T2 standard. A method is described for generating a stream containing a multiplex according to a first-generation DVB standard. This stream also contains the information relating to an encapsulation in accordance with DVB-T2 of at least one subset of broadcast programmes inserted in the stream in the form of private sections that will be ignored by a first-generation decoder that will decode the stream in accordance with the first-generation standard. Equipment according to the invention can construct the T2-MI stream at a DVB-T2 transmitter deterministically, which can then be integrated in an SFN network.

Abstract: A device is positioned upstream of a modulator in a digital service stream broadcasting chain, and is adapted to receive a plurality of transport streams and to transmit a transport stream to a modulator, each transport stream encapsulating a digital service stream adapted to be broadcast by the modulator, the digital service streams representing the same digital service. The device is also adapted to: digital service streams from the received transport streams; detect errors in the streams; align the extracted streams; select a stream from the aligned streams, according to any errors detected; encapsulate the selected stream, in order to form the stream to be transmitted to the modulator.
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of calculating a filtered filling level of the input buffer of a gateway generating a data stream from a received data stream resisting the jitter of the stream received. It applies more particularly to a gateway receiving an MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) transport stream received according to the IP protocol (Internet Protocol) and retransmitted over an ASI interface (Asynchronous Serial Interface). The invention proposes a method of calculating a filtered filling level of the input buffer resisting the jitter of the stream received. The received stream passing through an input buffer, the method is based on a regulation as a function of the maximum level of the buffer evaluated over a period of time, making it possible to protect against the effects of the jitter introduced into the received stream.
Abstract: The Invention pertains to the field of broadcasting digital services to terminals for transmitting said services, and concerns the problem of the smooth transfer between two versions of a same stream upstream from a transmitter within transmission networks on a single modulation frequency. The invention relates to a device for the fine synchronization of different versions of a data stream received with a certain offset or various jitters. In order to do so, the device includes different paths for detecting errors (ETR) and synchronizing the stream (SNF).
Abstract: Method of broadcasting a set of national and regional DVB-T2 programs not requiring duplicating the broadcasting of the national programs nor uploading the regional programs to a central point. This method is based on the creation of various T2-MI streams using PLP technology. A T2-MI stream is dedicated to the national programs. T2-MI streams are created for the regional programs. The national programs intended to be replaced by regional programs are isolated in specific pipes. The frame durations and the size of the box are harmonized between the various pipes. Each transmitter receives firstly the national T2-MI stream and at least one regional T2-MI stream. It has a device for replacing at least one pipe of the national T2-MI stream with a pipe of the regional T2-MI stream in order to generate the T2-MI stream to be transmitted.

Abstract: A contribution system where the national services are not duplicated in the single stream. This single stream is transmitted in a mode not implementing burst transmission. Advantageously, the single stream is not protected by an FEC error correcting code, as present in the radio broadcast standard, for example DVB-H. Synchronization is provided by the insertion by the concentrator of synchronization packets comprising three synchronization stamps. A first stamp serves to synchronize the deconcentrators with each other and with the concentrator. A second stamp generates a first synchronization signal allowing synchronous generation of the period of the burst transmission mode necessary for generating the regional signal. The third stamp serves to generate a second synchronization signal for generating so-called “MIP” synchronization packets for synchronizing the various modulators.
