Patent number: 11542915Abstract: A hydrokinetic energy interface device includes a hydrokinetic wheel and a moveable support structure with an angled frame. The angled frame mounted upon the moveable support structure connects between a hydrokinetic wheel and a counterbalance. A bearing is mounted at a vertex between a first end and a second end of the angled frame. The angled frame pivots to move the hydrokinetic wheel and the counterbalance in opposite vertical direction. The hydrokinetic wheel maintains vertical alignment as the angled frame pivots. The hydrokinetic wheel can be formed with interconnectable rim sections. The hydrokinetic wheel may be cantilevered out away from a riverbank by the counterbalance. The hydrokinetic wheel may be raised or lowered by actuation. The movable support structure supporting the hydrokinetic wheel may be rolled away from a free-flowing river for maintenance, repairs, or modification.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2022Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Assignee: Hydrokinetic Energy Research Associates, LLCInventor: Clifford P. Patent number: 9947423Abstract: A nanofuel engine including an inventive nanofuel internal engine, whereby nuclear energy is released in the working fluid and directly converted into useful work, with the qualities of an economical advanced small modular gaseous pulsed thermal reactor. Scientific feasibility is established by studying the behavior of nuclear fuels in configurations designed to support a fission chain reaction. Nanofuel is defined as nuclear fuel suitable for use in an internal engine, comprised of six essential ingredients, and can be created from clean fuel or from the transuranic elements found in light-water reactor spent nuclear fuel in a proliferation resistant manner. Three essential ingredients ensure the nanofuel is inherently stable, due to a negative temperature coefficient of reactivity. Reciprocating and Wankel (rotary) internal engine configurations, which operate in an Otto cycle, are adapted to support a fission chain reaction.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2016Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: Global Energy Research Associates, LLCInventor: Mark Lloyd Adams

Patent number: 4314324Abstract: In a transformer power supply, a full wave rectifier is series connected in circuit with the primary winding of the transformer such that the current flowing through the primary winding of the transformer flows in series through the input of the full wave rectifier. An inductive load is connected across the output terminals of the full wave rectifier such that the rectified output current flows through the inductive load. The full wave rectifier preferably uses silicon controlled rectifiers which are phase triggered in such a manner so as to control their conduction angles so as to control the power flow from the source to the load connected to the secondary of the transformer. The inductance of the load for the rectifier preferably exceeds the critical inductance so as to minimize ripples in the secondary of the transformer. This type of power supply circuit is particularly useful for supplying power to an electron gun which is subject to arcing.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1979Date of Patent: February 2, 1982Assignee: Energy Research AssociatesInventors: Emmett R.
