  • Patent number: 8690434
Abstract: A damper roller system is provided. The system includes an external rotating element connected to a bearing housing. The bearing housing is filled with a viscous fluid and includes at least one bearing element immersed in the viscous fluid. The bearing housing is connected to at least one sealing element sealing the viscous fluid inside the bearing housing. The bearing element is connected to a non-rotating shaft having opposite first and second ends. The shaft is held in place at the first end by the bearing element and is rigidly connectable at the second end to an object. The first end is nail-shaped and immersed in the viscous fluid. A rotation of the external rotating element drives a common rotation of the bearing housing and of the bearing element, and shears the viscous fluid, causing a damping motion proportional to a rotational speed of the external rotating element.

  • Publication number: 20100150664
Abstract: A submerged buoyant floating platform with blocked vertical thrust. Above the platform an electrolyser may be placed inside a hollow container. Under the platform may be a hollow container filled with ballast, connected by pipes or chains to the outer ring of the platform which provide rigidity to the entire structure. A storage tank for the hydrogen produced by the electrolyser may be attached to the hollow container. The entire structure may be anchored with chains attached to bottom weights sitting on the ocean floor. The structure may be used as a support for a tower including a wind turbine. Additional chains attached to the structure bottom weights on the sea floor may link the structure to an aquaculture facility and to floats which hold the cages used in aquaculture. The floats may be linked to additional bottom weights placed on the sea floor.

  • Patent number: 6520018
Abstract: An ultrasonic testing method to evaluate the structural integrity of lead-acid batteries terminal posts including the steps of transmitting ultrasonic waves from a transducer through the body of the lead-acid battery posts, detecting the internal defects in the terminal posts by a reflected echo from the internal defect, and deciding to reject or to accept a lead-acid battery by comparing and analyzing, through hardware and software, the transmitted and reflected ultrasonic waves of the bad terminal posts against the reference of transmitted and reflected ultrasonic signal of a good terminal post. The internal defects detected by this method are pores, flaws, and cracks.

  • Publication number: 20020182500
Abstract: A lead alloy for lead acid-battery grids which essentially consists of about 0.05-0.07 wt % calcium; about 0.09-1.3 wt % tin; about 0.006-0.010 % silver; about 0.0100-0.0170 wt % barium and about 0.015-0.025 wt % aluminum with the balance lead. This lead alloy allows the improvement of the age hardening step, by eliminating the high temperature treatment process required for silver alloys in the manufacturing of lead-acid batteries. By using this lead alloy, a longer service life of the lead-acid batteries are also obtained by increasing the corrosion resistance and the mechanical strength of battery grids manufactured by the book molding process. Additionally, the reduced silver level used dramatically mitigates the problem of silver elimination from the stream of recycled lead in the secondary production of this metal.

  • Patent number: 6488122
Abstract: An apparatus for generating rotative force using spring according to the present invention permits rotative force of an input shaft to be intermitted to an acceleration gear by an intermitting gear, an available time for the rotation of an output shaft to be confirmed by an indicating means, and the operation to be stopped by a stopping means. In addition, the apparatus causes the rotation of the output shaft to be stopped exactly in ‘0’ position of the available time by a setting means. Therefore, since the present invention intermits rotative force only by the intermitting gear, a production cost is reduced by the simple configuration, and thus the apparatus according to the present invention could be provided with low cost. In addition, the convenience in use is increased, since user could confirm the available time of rotation, the operation could be stopped while generating the rotative force, and the apparatus could operate in an inclined or upside down position.
