  • Patent number: 4607957
Abstract: This invention relates to a plant for the preparation of floated fodder, i.e. fodder in aqueous suspension made from humid grit or granulate and water with supplementary nutritional components and is based on a gastight high-rise silo comprising a central gravity shaft to which the grit is fed and from which the grit is extracted at the bottom via a conveyor facility. In accordance with the invention, a metering worm or screw opening onto a mixer is joined in gastight manner to the outlet of the bottom silo extractor, a second open mixer receiving supplementary nutritional components from containers which are not necessarily gastight, via individual metering worms or screws being situated in the water supply pipe or in the delivery pipe of the mixer.

  • Patent number: 4512521
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for granulating corn-cob mix and for conveying the granulate into a silo, transport truck or the like, including a mill comprising an integrated blower and a conveyor pipe joined tangentially to the blower. The mill is constituted by a beater mill that comprises a blower located behind a sieve within a circular casing and having a rotor arranged concentrically therein. A suction pipe is connected to the beater mill and comprises a secondary air opening adjustable in width, the suction pipe passing into a chamber supplied with the material which is to be milled from a reception container by means of a conveyor screw or other conveying means and the width of the suction pipe is greater by 35-70% than the width of the conveying pipe at the pressure-side of the blower. This enables the setting of the supply of material to be milled to the mill comprising a blower once, without having to undertake another governing operation.

  • Patent number: 4511292
Abstract: During pneumatic discharging of granulates or other not readily flowable bulk goods from ships by means of a suction nozzle and a suction pipe connected thereto, it is necessary to loosen the material within range of the suction nozzle and to cause walls of material left standing to collapse. To this end, the suction nozzle is provided with a frame or tube surrounding and spaced from it and suspended and supported on it in an elastic manner, the frame having tools on the outer side for intervention in the materials to be extracted by suction, and being capable of being placed in horizontal pivotal oscillation.

  • Patent number: 4487542
Abstract: This invention relates to the draining of bulk materials which are not spontaneously flowable, from a high-rise silo in which the bulk material is fed from the top layer of the bulk material at any instant, into a central gravity shaft having a bottom extraction facility. To this end, the invention consists in a gravity shaft which is combined with the gastight high-rise silo and is rigid, stationary, tubular and closable at the bottom. The shaft is provided with perforations distributed along its height and circumference, of which at least one is situated at each vertical position of the prevailing level of bulk material. The bottom of the shaft can be sealed off with a slider or a plug of the material which is permitted to be built up to a predetermined height.

  • Patent number: 4413933
Abstract: This invention relates to pneumatic suction devices for removing slowly movable material from enclosed storage spaces, of the kind in which a suction pipe secured to a pivotable arm and having a supply of air arranged to be fed to a suction aperture thereof, is provided with peripherally distributed driven tools for loosening the material. According to the invention, at least three axially parallel drivable spindles are distributed around the end of the suction pipe, the spindles carrying, at least at the lower end thereof, tools for loosening the material and conveying it to the suction aperture and the suction pipe. Adjacent ones of the spindles are preferably rotatable in opposite directions, but at least two adjacent spindles out of an odd number of the spindles are rotatable in the same direction. The tools may include strip-shaped radial vane surfaces with bent-over ends substantially parallel to the spindles and arranged at an angle to the direction of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4396337
Abstract: A round silo for storage of different kinds of grain, especially damp grain, in layers one above the other, in a predetermined ratio, so as to facilitate a desired mixture of different grain kinds. The silo is of the type including a central bottom outlet opening. The central bottom outlet opening is in the shape of a conical deflector having a truncated conical surface, with the point thereof upwardly facing, and an outer peripheral edge disposed at a predetermined distance from the bottom of the silo. Furthermore, the silo is provided at its bottom end with an annular zone defined outwardly by the silo wall and inwardly by the outer peripheral edge of the conical deflector. A rotatable blade is mounted at the bottom of the silo beneath the conical deflector for rotation around the central axis of the silo for conveying grain toward the center of the silo and the conveyor means.

  • Patent number: 4360294
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for extracting silage for a cylindrical silo, of the kind including a suction extractor pipe and a suction aperture means including toothed wheels for feeding silage material to the suction aperture, the wheels directly carrying the extractor device. According to the invention, these toothed wheels are freely rotatably journalled on a plurality of supporting radial arms, and a cutting wheel is positioned obliquely with respect to a plane extending above and parallel to the silage surface. The peripheral part of the wheels next adjacent a vertical wall of the silo is spaced from the silo wall by a small amount and is freely rotatably journalled at the extremity of each of the radial arms.

  • Patent number: 4352606
Abstract: This invention relates to devices for extracting hay or the like from a cylindrical tower silo, of the kind including a pneumatic conveyor pipe leading centrally into the silo and forming an inlet at its upper end, the conveyor pipe having a suction head to which the material is fed by means of a radial conveyor. According to this invention, a portion of the conveyor pipe which follows the top end inlet into the silo extends radially with respect to the periphery of the silo and is rotatable around the axis of the silo. The free extremity of the conveyor pipe radial portion is associated with the suction head, to which the material is fed by means of the radial conveyor which conveys from the inside the silo towards the outside thereof, and also revolves around the silo axis. A vertical telescopic pipe may connect the further conveyor pipe radial portion to the top end inlet.
