    Abstract: A truss assembly apparatus and method for assembling a truss utilizing the apparatus are presented, the apparatus comprising a truss table having a work surface with a first and second assembly zone. A first clamping assembly has a movable first clamp rail for clamping the truss in the first assembly zone, the first clamp rail having at least one flip-arm recess therein. A flip-over assembly has at least one flip-over arm movable relative to the work surface for moving the truss from a first truss position-in the first assembly zone to a second truss position in the second assembly zone, the flip-over arm movable into the flip-arm recess of the first clamp rail. The apparatus may have a plurality of such recesses and flip arms. The truss assembly apparatus may further comprise a second clamping assembly having a movable second clamp rail for clamping the truss in the second assembly zone, the second clamp rail having a flip-arm recess therein movable into the flip-arm recess of the second clamp rail.

    Abstract: The invention is directed to a connector plate packaging system and method of packaging connector plates for storage and transport. Each connector plate has a planar base with a plurality of teeth extending from the front face thereof. The package comprises a tray and a plurality of connector plate pairs. Each connector plate of each pair is arranged tooth-to-tooth such that the teeth extend toward the other connector plate of the pair in a tooth-to-tooth arrangement. The connector plate pairs are arranged back-to-back such that the back face of one of the connector plates of one of the pairs is in parallel abutment with the back face of one of the connector plates of another pair. The plurality of connector plate pairs are disposed in a tray. In one aspect of the invention, the tray and plurality of connector plate pairs are enclosed in wrapping material.

    Abstract: A bumper system 10 for an automotive vehicle is provided. The bumper system includes a composite valance 12 adapted for attachment to a chassis of the automotive vehicle, where the composite valance includes a reinforcement section 18 formed therein. Preferably, the reinforcement section is formed longitudinally along a central portion of the composite valance, is recessed with respect to a front surface 22 of the composite valance, and includes a plurality of structural ribs 24 provided therein. A cover beam 28, preferably constructed from a metallic material, is adapted for attachment to the composite valance. The cover beam is sized to substantially cover the reinforcement section when attached to the composite valance, and give the bumper system an overall metallic appearance.

The vessel has a circumturret structure passing through the hull of the vessel and surrounding the turret structure. The apparatus comprises a hook roller assembly, a load roller assembly, a radial roller assembly, and a drive mechanism. The hook roller assembly prevents the turret structure from moving upward from the wave and current forces exerted on the floating vessel. The load roller assembly rotatably supports the turret structure on the circumturret structure. The plurality of radial roller assemblies mounted to the circumturret radially support the turret. The drive mechanism is used to rotate the vessel around the turret.

    Abstract: A damper valve includes a base, a valve blade pivotally mounted on the base and two serially arranged valve seats. Each valve seat comprises adjustable valve seat portions on opposite sides of a pivot axis of the valve blade, the valve seat portions being positioned on opposite sides of the blade. Each valve seat portion includes a stationary member fixed to the base, an adjustable element movable relative to the stationary member, and bolts fixing the adjustable element to the stationary member. Adjustment devices are provided for moving each adjustable element toward the valve element to provide a precise fit along the entire length of the valve seat. The valve seats and the valve blade define an annulus which can contain gas at a higher pressure than the fluid controlled by the valve, so that none of the controlled fluid flows past the valve.

In one embodiment, the traction winch module is designed to mount between pillow blocks from the existing mooring winch frame. In addition, the power train and load-sensing systems from the existing drum winch may be used with the converted traction winch to drive the drive shaft and to provide the converted traction winch with tension information, respectively.

The metal working tip has opposed air cut faces abutting one another along an air cut edge and opposed first and second forming faces, each of the forming faces abutting one of the air cut faces along an exterior edge. Each of the air cut faces is bordered by a portion of one of the minor end walls, a portion of one of the side walls, the air cut edge, and one of the exterior edges.

A plurality of slats are received and secured to a bottom planar surface of each of the plurality of notches. The plurality of slats extend from the first side panel to the second side panel.

    Abstract: A sawing system is provided having a material conveyor for moving lengths of wood stock through the sawing system. According to one aspect of the invention, the material conveyor is preferably inclined upward from a frontal loading end to facilitate the loading of wood stock. The material conveyor is also preferably adjustable to accommodate different lengths of wood stock. According to another aspect of the invention, the sawing system has at least first and second power saws on one side of the material conveyor and at least third and fourth power saws on the opposite side of the material conveyor. Each of the four power saws is supported for independent angular movement of its saw blade about a pivot axis that is offset from the plane of the saw blade and parallel to the direction of the movement of the lengths of wood stock on the material conveyor. At least one of the first and second power saws is supported for horizontal movement relative to the material conveyor.

First vertical adjustment members (100, 200) are connected to the first side frame portion and to the first planar member, and second vertical adjustment members (300, 400) are connected to the second side frame portion and to the second planar member. The self-drilling tip is extends from a second end of the shank. The first buttress thread is formed in said shank and is adjacent the head and partially traverses the shank, terminating from the shank's second end. The second buttress thread is formed in the shank and sufficiently spaced apart from the first buttress thread such that the first thread does not continue to threadingly feed the shank through an aperture formed by the self-drilling tip, the second buttress thread terminating adjacent the tip.

    Abstract: A passive riser tensioner apparatus for tensioning riser pipes on floating platforms and tension leg platforms utilizes one or more elongate elastic tensioning elements connected at top and bottom ends to the upper end of a riser pipe that are capable of being axially stretched. Each tensioning element has a threaded length adjustment rod and tension preload nut at its top end which adjusts the axial length to produce a predetermined preload tension force in the tensioning element between its connection to the riser pipe. A riser support collar slidably received on the length adjustment rod and riser pipe upper end is configured to be supported on the deck of the platform and allow axial movement of the riser pipe. A tension locking nut on the length adjustment rod releasably engages the length adjustment rod with the riser support collar when it is supported on the deck.
