  • Patent number: 8973362
Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing explosions, including a pressure-resistance container having a main explosion chamber introduced therein, further including a supply line for supplying a flowable explosible material, and a drain opening for the directed drainage of gas pressure caused by the ignition of the explosible material. The drain opening is closed directly by a closure means, preferably a plunger, which is pressed against the drain opening using a gas spring and held closed substantially up to the time of ignition. Before the actual main explosion, the closure means is moved by the igniting and the pressure force of an auxiliary explosion, thereby exposing the drain opening.

  • Patent number: 8973248
Abstract: A connection assembly for attaching metallic and plastic components by a heat staking operation includes a first component, a second component, a compressible protrusion, an annular collar, and a deformable stud. The first component is formed of a metallic material and includes an inner surface. The second component includes an interior surface facing the inner surface of the first component and an opposite exterior surface. The second component includes a plurality of apertures which extend between the interior surface and the exterior surface. During the heat staking operation the deformable stud is deformed so as to restrain relative movement between the first and second components. The compressible protrusion plastically deforms to absorb pressure to prevent cracking of the second component and the annular collar absorbs heat to prevent the second component adjacent the aperture from melting.

  • Patent number: 8973887
Abstract: In a slide structure, a support structure and a seismically isolated structure, a first sliding surface (25) of a sliding member (21) is formed of a sliding body (24) made of synthetic resin. A film (27) made of synthetic resin and having a Young's modulus more than twice as large as that of the first sliding surface (25) is formed on the second sliding surface (28) of the counter member (22). At the same time, fine irregularities having a maximum height Rz of 3 ?m or higher are formed on the surface of the film (27). As a result, the lubricant is trapped in small pits of the irregularities to prevent the lubricant from flowing out, and a stable low friction state can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 8975157
Abstract: The present invention provides a temporary carrier bonding and detaching process. A first surface of a semiconductor wafer is mounted on a first carrier by a first adhesive, and a first isolation coating is disposed between the first adhesive and the first carrier. Then, a second carrier is mounted on the second surface of the semiconductor wafer. The first carrier is detached. The method of the present invention utilizes the second carrier to support and protect the semiconductor wafer, after which the first carrier is detached. Therefore, the semiconductor wafer will not be damaged or broken, thereby improving the yield rate of the semiconductor process. Furthermore, the simplicity of the detaching method for the first carrier allows for improvement in efficiency of the semiconductor process.
