  • Patent number: 6676918
Abstract: A method for removing hydrogen sulfide from liquid sulfur, comprising introducing liquid sulfur containing hydrogen sulfide in an upstream portion of a conduit. The conduit has a fluid outlet in a downstream portion thereof located within a lower portion of a first vessel. The method further includes causing the liquid sulfur to flow through the conduit outlet into the first vessel, up an annulus formed between the conduit and the first vessel and overflow through an outlet positioned at an upper portion of the first vessel into a second vessel which is connected to a liquid sulfur pit operating at atmospheric pressure. Air is introduced into the liquid sulfur located in the annulus at a point between the conduit outlet and said first vessel outlet. The flows concurrently to the direction of flow of the liquid sulfur in the annulus and out of the first vessel outlet into the second vessel thereby removing hydrogen sulfide from the liquid sulfur in the annulus.

  • Patent number: 6676386
Abstract: An oilless air motor assembly useable for driving hydraulic pumps and the like includes a slide valve that moves back and forth relative to a valve sleeve situated about the slide valve. A low friction or lubricious dry seal member is disposed between the slide valve and the valve sleeve, thereby eliminating the need for added oil or lubricant and additionally avoiding the need for precise machining and matching (e.g., honing and lapping) of the slide valve and valve sleeve. Also provided is a kit for converting a previously manufactured air motor assembly that requires oil or added lubricant to an oilless air motor assembly. Such kit comprises the slide valve, valve sleeve and dry seal member as well as other optional parts associated with those elements.

  • Patent number: 6675984
Abstract: A metal finishing barrel side opening has a cover secured by a series of cover and barrel tabs, the cover slid into a secured position with the cover tabs partially overlain by the barrel tabs. A locking handle assembly includes a graspable portion supported on a deflectable spring blade attached to the cover at one end which allows the handle assembly to move away from an aligned locator feature on the barrel as the cover is pushed into position. When the cover is shifted lengthwise, the handle assembly moves past the locking feature, and the locking blade pushes the handle assembly back down alongside the locking feature which then prevents reverse sliding of the cover back from under the barrel tabs. When the handle is pulled to initiate removal of the cover, the handle assembly is then moved out above the locking feature to enable the cover to be slid to the released position. An automation apparatus interacts with one form of the locking assembly to automatically install and remove the cover.

  • Patent number: 6678028
Abstract: A liquid crystal display is provided with respective signal lines and a semiconductor chip. Respective output bumps of the semiconductor chip are connected to corresponding respective signal lines through ax anisotropic conductive layer. The respective output bumps include a first group of output bumps which are arranged at a side close to the signal lines and a second group of output bumps which are arranged at a side remote from the signal lines. The area of respective bumps of the second group of output bumps which face the signal lines in an opposed manner is set larger than the area of respective bumps of the first group of output bumps which face the signal lines in an opposed manner. Due to such a constitution, a reliable connection between the mounted semiconductor integrated circuit and the signal lines is ensured.
