  • Patent number: 11710838
Abstract: A system for controlling gas flow in a fuel cell circuit includes a fuel cell stack, a pressure sensor, and a valve to adjust a flow of gas through the fuel cell circuit. The system further includes an ECU designed to estimate pressure values of the gas at multiple locations in the fuel cell circuit based on the detected pressure of the gas and based on flow resistance values (including at the valve), the estimated pressure values including an estimated sensor pressure value at a location of the pressure sensor. The ECU is further designed to determine a pressure deviation between the detected pressure and the estimated sensor pressure value. The ECU is further designed to adjust the flow resistance value of the valve to determine a final flow resistance value of the valve that causes the pressure deviation to reach or drop below a threshold deviation amount.

  • Patent number: 11708312
Abstract: Steam cracking of ethane, a non-catalytic thermochemical process, remains the dominant means of ethylene production. The severe reaction conditions and energy expenditure involved in this process incentivize the search for alternative reaction pathways and reactor designs which maximize ethylene yield while minimizing cost and energy input. According to the present invention, ethylene yields as high as 68% were obtained with a quartz open tube reactor without the use of a catalyst or a cofed stream of oxidizing agents. The open tube reactor design promotes simplicity, low cost, and negligible coke formation. Reactor designs can be optimized to improve the conversion of ethane to ethylene via non-oxidative dehydrogenation, an approach which shows promise for decentralized production of ethylene from natural gas deposits.

  • Publication number: 20230228987
Abstract: A laser processing device for forming vias has a galvo mirror module, a first lens, a second lens, a focusing module, and a laser source. The laser source emits a laser beam through the first lens and the second lens to convert the laser beam into an incident ring beam. The galvo mirror module reflects the incident ring beam into a reflected ring beam into the focusing module to convert the reflected ring beam into a Bessel-like beam. The galvo mirror module has a scanning direction and shifts a reflection direction of the reflected ring beam to move an end of the reflected ring beam along the scanning direction. The focusing module has a third lens linearly slid along the scanning direction to reduce variations in shape and laser fluence of the Bessel-like beam focused at different positions.

  • Patent number: 11704451
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to generating a wiring schema with more than one safety device sharing at least one test signal through one or more external terminal blocks when the number of terminals required by safety devices exceeds the number of available terminals of a safety controller. In an illustrative example, the method may include determining a total number of terminals A of safety devices to be connected to a safety evaluation device having a number of terminals B. If A is greater than B, the method may then include generating a wiring schema that one or more external terminal blocks may show indicia of electrical connections between an identified set of safety devices and a shared terminal of the safety evaluation device associated with that set. Various embodiments may advantageously expand a number of devices to be connected to the safety evaluation device.
