  • Patent number: 11673110
Abstract: A method of fabricating a multi-mode heat transfer device includes forming a thermal metamaterial composite structure that includes an inner core to radiate heat and an outer core that at least partially surrounds the inner core. The outer core includes a high thermally conductive material inlay and a low thermally conductive material matrix that form a composite material pattern to thermally concentrate and direct heat radiated by the inner core to an area outside of the multi-mode heat transfer device, while also thermally cloaking heat radiated by the inner core. A plurality of thermal metamaterial composite structures are then stacked in a stacked formation to form a thermal metamaterial composite assembly. The method includes manipulating the emissivity of the thermal metamaterial composite assembly by selectively applying a coating or a plating to one or more outer surface regions of the outer core to enhance the transfer of heat by the composite material pattern.

  • Patent number: 11677302
Abstract: Grooves are formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction on an outer peripheral edge of a circular block, and inner rods are housed in these grooves and arranged to be movable radially along radial directions. The outer rods are provided to be movable radially along radial directions, and respectively face the inner rods. Respective one slot insertion portions of coil segments are inserted into gaps between the inner rods and also into the holding member. The respective other slot insertion portions are inserted into gaps between the outer rods. Thereafter, the whole outer rods are rotated to rotate the coil segments around the slot insertion portions, then the holding member is lowered, and the whole outer rods are further rotated without interference between the holding member and the slot insertion portions to bring the coil segments into close contact with one another.

  • Patent number: 11675098
Abstract: A radiation spectrometer includes a scintillator, a photomultiplier, and one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The scintillator receives radiation from the environment and emits light that is indicative of an energy of the radiation. The photomultiplier receives the light and outputs an electrical signal that is in turn indicative of the energy of the radiation. Spectral data can be generated based upon the electrical signal, wherein the spectral data indicates a number of radiation events in each of several energy bins. The one or more LEDs can emit LED light through the scintillator and toward the photomultiplier, wherein the LED light causes an LED peak in the spectral data that can be used to identify an absolute energy of radiation events in the spectral data.

  • Patent number: 11673127
Abstract: Methods are provided for formulation of catalysts with improved catalyst exposure lifetimes under oxygenate conversion conditions. In various additional aspects, methods are described for performing oxygenate conversion reactions using such catalysts with improved catalyst exposure lifetimes. The catalyst formulation methods can include formulation of oxygenate conversion catalysts with binders that are selected from binders having a surface area of roughly 250 m2/g or less, or 200 m2/g or less. In various aspects, during formulation, a weak base can be added to the zeotype crystals, to the binder material, or to the mixture of the zeotype and the binder. It has been unexpectedly discovered that addition of a weak base, so that the weak base is present in at least one component of the binder mixture prior to formulation, can result in longer catalyst exposure lifetimes under methanol conversion conditions.

  • Patent number: 11677663
Abstract: A software-defined network (SDN) rule modification counter system provides counters that track all changes and edits to rules at SDN controllers and SDN switches on an SDN. The system compares counters at the SDN controller and SDN switch to determine if they match. If the counters do not match, a change has been made to the rules. With the addition of rule edit statistics the SDN controller will now have visibility that a rule modification was performed. The SDN controller then verifies that the state of the device is the same as its expected state as a secondary integrity check. Based on the rule modification notification, changes to a central rules table at the SDN controller and changes to rule settings at the SDN switch are made according to pre-programmed logic.
