Abstract: An extrusion head for a three-dimensional printer is disclosed including a feed tube, a heater, a cooler, and a bridge. The feed tube can be made of metal and has an inlet for receiving a forwardly driven filament of solid deposition material, an outlet, a downstream portion adjacent to the outlet, an upstream portion upstream from the downstream portion, and an internal passage extending from the inlet to the outlet. The heater is thermally coupled with the downstream portion of the feed tube for heating a filament to provide softened fluid deposition material. The cooler is thermally coupled with the upstream portion and spaced generally axially from the heater to define a generally axially extending gap traversed by the feed tube. The bridge traverses the gap and provides a rigid mechanical connection between the heater and the cooler.
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of delayering a semiconductor integrated circuit die or wafer. In at least one aspect, the method includes exposing a die or wafer to plasma of an etching gas and detecting exposure of one or more metal layers within the die. In one aspect of the invention, the plasma of the etching gas is non-selective and removes all materials in a layer at about the same rate. In another aspect of the invention, two different plasmas of corresponding etching gases are employed with each plasma of the etching gas being selective, thus necessitating the sequential use of both plasmas of corresponding etching gases to remove all materials in a layer.

The server has a database configured to store a plurality of records that respectively correspond to a plurality of products in an inspection line. The local hub, in communication with the server, is configured to receive the user input from the mobile computing device and update a record among the plurality of records that corresponds to the selected product to include a defect indication in accordance with the user input.

Abstract: There is described a method of making an acoustic sensor having a frequency response approximating a desired frequency response. Abstract: An apparatus for collecting floating marine debris comprises a frame, a debris collection container in communication with a rear opening of the frame, a pair of helicoidal screws mounted to the frame in a symmetrical V-arrangement that tapers inwardly from a front opening of the frame to the rear opening, and at least one prime mover rotationally coupled to the pair of helicoidal screws. The prime mover is operable to rotate the helicoidal screws in opposite directions at the same angular velocity in water to move the apparatus forward through the water, such that floating marine debris enters the apparatus through the front opening, passes through the rear opening and is collected in the debris collection container.

Abstract: A method of using detection devices for hazard detection when activating a physical closure member of an automobile generates a combined output signal from a first-detection device having a first-operational range and a second-detection device having a second-operational range. The combined output signal is generated for activity detected within a full-operational range, wherein the full-operational range is a mathematical union of the first-operational range and the second-operational range. A cumulative safety threshold is determined for the physical closure member using processing circuitry. Hazard-related data within the combined output signal is analyzed using processing circuitry. If the hazard-related data exceeds the cumulative safety threshold, a current state of the physical closure member is changed. If the hazard-related data does not exceed the cumulative safety threshold, a current state of the physical closure member is maintained.

Abstract: A canned motor device includes a casing, a rear cover and a leak detector. The rear cover has a main body portion having a cover end wall, and an extended disk portion cooperating with the main body portion to define an accommodating space. The casing and the rear cover cooperatively define an annular groove, a liquid-receiving space and a plurality of guiding grooves therebetween. The leak detector is disposed on one side of the cover end wall opposite to the liquid-receiving space for detecting a change in electrostatic capacity between the leak detector and the liquid-receiving space. Abstract: The present disclosure provides a semiconductor device package. The semiconductor device package includes a substrate having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface of the substrate. The substrate has a through opening extending between the first surface of the substrate and the second surface of the substrate. The semiconductor device package also includes a conductive pad in the through opening and approximal to the second surface of the substrate. The conductive pad has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface of the conductive pad. The semiconductor device package also includes a conductive pillar in contact with the first surface of the conductive pad. The second surface of the conductive pad protrudes from the second surface of the substrate. A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device package is also disclosed.

Abstract: A pleated filter preparation system is provided for accurately counting pleats along a continuous sheet of pleated filter material and cutting the sheet into filter strips to be formed into filters. The pleated filter preparation system includes a pleat driver having multiple drive gears that engage with the pleats of the pleated filter material to move the pleated filter material through the system. A pleat counter counts peaks and valleys of each pleat comprising the pleated filter material so as to identify a target pleat to be cut. The pleat counter clamps and stretches the target pleat to distinguish the target pleat among the other pleats. A punch cut station cuts the target pleat to form a filter strip having a desired number of pleats. A pleat compressor compresses the filter strips to a predetermined size and then ejects the filter strips into a suitable container or bin.
Abstract: Compact sound attenuation systems for fluid ducts are provided having one or more sound attenuation units that can be absorptive or reflective, depending on design. Each sound attenuation unit has one or more encircling Helmholtz resonators that fully encircle the duct in a lateral direction. Sound attenuation units can be coincident with the duct well and either interior or exterior to the duct, or in some instances can be partly interior and partly exterior to the duct. Sound attenuation systems can be tuned for maximum attenuation of a single resonance frequency, or can include multiple units of different frequencies for broadband attenuation.
