  • Patent number: 10679530
Abstract: Systems and methods for projecting images from a vehicle onto a dynamic projection surface within an aerosol are provided. A method may include performing an initial scan of the aerosol to determine a projection surface within the aerosol based upon an aerosol density map. The method may further include projecting an image onto the projection surface within the aerosol. The method may also include performing an updated scan to update the projection surface based on changing depth and changing distance of the projection surface relative to the scanning device over time. The method may additionally include modifying the image being projected based upon a change to the projection surface due to one or more of a motion of the vehicle and a change in the aerosol.

  • Patent number: 10675932
Abstract: A dual-mode vehicle, wheels for the vehicle, and a method of transitioning the vehicle from a land mode to a flight mode. In the land mode, the method includes rotating a pair of spaced wheel arms about a central pivot to lower a body of the dual-mode vehicle to a ground surface. Each wheel arm extends from the central pivot to a wheel. The method also includes rotating the central pivot about a longitudinal vehicle axis to raise the wheel arms and the wheels above the ground surface. After raising the wheel arms and wheels above the ground surface, the method includes rotating the wheel arms about the central pivot to position the wheels for use as rotors in the flight mode. In the flight mode, the method includes rotating the wheels in order to extract rotor blades positioned within the wheels to extend beyond the wheels.

  • Patent number: 10678559
Abstract: Software is used to allow inputs to a microcontroller to have primary and alternate functions, which reduces the need for additional inputs and associated conductors in a programmable device such as a warning signal light. The microcontroller firmware includes a routine that detects the state of inputs during a first predetermined period of time after initialization of the microcontroller. The state of the inputs is used to activate alternate modes of operation in which changes in the state of the inputs is detected and used for functions different than a function associated with the same input in another mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 10676413
Abstract: In a process for producing one or more 2,X?-dimethyl biphenyl isomers (where X=2, 3 or 4), a feed comprising toluene is contacted with hydrogen in the presence of a hydroalkylation catalyst under conditions effective to produce a hydroalkylation reaction product comprising (methylcyclohexyl)toluene. At least part of the hydroalkylation reaction product is dehydrogenated in the presence of a dehydrogenation catalyst under conditions effective to produce a dehydrogenation reaction product comprising dimethyl biphenyl isomers. The dehydrogenation reaction product is then separated into at least a first stream comprising one or more 3,3?-, 3,4?- and 4,4?-dimethyl biphenyl isomers and at least one second stream comprising one or more 2,X?-dimethyl biphenyl isomers (where X=2, 3 or 4).

  • Patent number: 10677160
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for combined cycle power generation while reducing or mitigating emissions during power generation. Recycled exhaust gas from a power generation combustion reaction can be separated using a swing adsorption process so as to generate a high purity CO2 stream while reducing/minimizing the energy required for the separation and without having to reduce the temperature of the exhaust gas. This can allow for improved energy recovery while also generating high purity streams of carbon dioxide and nitrogen.

  • Patent number: 10678271
Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a portable mass airflow (MAF) training module configured to simulate an air intake into an internal combustion engine. An in-line blower draws an airflow through an air filter by way of a first air duct and a second air duct. A throttle assembly is coupled between the first air duct and the second air duct. The throttle assembly includes a throttle plate that may be rotated to regulate the airflow. The power output of the in-line blower is variable to simulate the air intake of various sizes of the internal combustion engine. A MAF sensor and a duct velocity sensor are configured to provide airflow information. The portable MAF training module enables a practitioner to select a desired throttle setting and observe a resultant mass airflow through the portable MAF training module that is measured by the MAF sensor.
