Abstract: Systems and methods for indicating the presence of a mobile device within a passenger cabin are provided. A method for indicating the presence of a mobile device within a passenger cabin of a vehicle includes linking a vehicle computing device with the mobile device, determining whether a vehicle ignition is off and whether a vehicle lock has been actuated. The method further includes generating an audible mobile device search signal that is played through a cabin and waiting to receive a response from the mobile device as to whether the mobile device detected the audible mobile device search signal. The method further includes determining whether the mobile device is within the passenger cabin based on whether a response was received from the mobile device and generating a first audible indication when the mobile device is within the passenger cabin.

  • Publication number: 20150101406
Abstract: In various aspects, methods and systems are provided for monitoring catalyst bed levels using multiple sensors that are temporarily installed in a reactor during catalyst loading. The multiple sensors are able to take distance measurements at substantially the same time and at predetermined time intervals so as to provide a catalyst time profile. • Publication number: 20150101594
Abstract: A process for cold clarification of juice is described. A sugar cane or beet juice clarification process to clarify raw juice by means of aeration of fresh raw juice, addition of milk or lime, anionic and/or cationic flocculants, particularly together with a carbonating process, addition of phosphoric acid and then passing the juice through activated carbon bed is described. The process eliminates the need to heat the juice at any stage thus making it more cost effective, energy saving and gives better yield in terms of quality and quantity both. The recycling of defecated, carbonated and phosphated filtered juice and carbonated and phosphated mud that reduces the consumption of lime, CO2 and phosphoric acid up to some extent is described.

  • Publication number: 20150106036
Abstract: For a monitored corrosion sensor, such as a sensor based on one or more mechanical oscillators disposed in a fluid flow, one or more values are measured over time. The values can be measured at a desired frequency, such as a once per second, once per minute, or another convenient frequency. The measured data can then be analyzed as a time series. The goal of the analysis is to identify variations in the time series data that are sufficiently unexpected relative to the prior behavior of the time series within a given time window. The identified variations can then, for example, be excluded from consideration when determining a corrosion-related value for the sensor.

  • Patent number: 9008982
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for calculating the flux in a core of an unloaded power transformer using current measurements taken from a capacitance-coupled voltage transformer (CCVT) attached to the same phase line as the power transformer. According to various embodiments, the current sensors may both be positioned at zero-voltage points in the CCVT, eliminating the need for high-voltage insulated current sensors. An intelligent electronic device (IED) may determine the magnetic flux within the core of the power transformer using the measured and/or derived currents through capacitive assemblies of the CCVT. The IED may calculate the residual flux in the power transformer when it is de-energized. The IED may use the calculated residual flux to facilitate an optimized re-energization of the power transformer, thereby reducing inrush currents during re-energization.

  • Patent number: 9009008
Abstract: A system and method for automatic generation and usage of fluid flow loss coefficients for T-junctions is disclosed. In one embodiment, a list of possible T-junctions is created using given geometric and flow parameters. Further, journal files are created using the geometric and the flow parameters associated with each T-junction. The journal files associated with each T-junction are pre-processed for creating a volume mesh. Boundary conditions and material properties for the volume mesh associated with each T-junction are defined. Simulation is performed using the volume mesh, the boundary conditions and the material properties associated with each T-junction to determine flow characteristics. Fluid flow loss coefficients for each T-junction are computed using the flow characteristics.
