Abstract: A mechanical seal for sealing between a housing and a relatively rotating shaft includes a gland for attachment to a housing for a piece of equipment, at least one adjustable setting in the ground and extending therefrom for engaging the housing and a non-permanent device for detachably attaching the gland to the housing for a piece of equipment.
Abstract: A liquid aminoether acid gas absorbent which is subject to freezing in a cold climatic zone though which the aminoether is to be shipped is rendered freeze-resistant by mixing the aminoether with water prior to transport through the cold climatic zone; the aminoether/water mixture typically contains 10 to 40 weight percent water, based on the weight of the aminoether. The aminoether/water mixture can also be stored in the cold climatic zone without being externally maintained at a temperature above the inherent freezing point of the aminoether.

Abstract: A transconductor converts voltage on an inductive sensor to a proportional current using two “coupling” capacitors. Responsive to movement of an electrically conductive target from the null position a resonant current is formed between the two sensor coils. A single differential transistor pair switched by periodic drive signals commutes the net alternating current at the single input to direct current.

Abstract: Methods of force management for a force management anchor (FMA) include apparatus between a post and a base plate that resist post rotation under fall loads, the apparatus resisting said rotation at a constant torque. A peak constant torque is less than a torsional “tear-out” capacity of a surface for maximizing energy absorption. While the fall force vector remains generally parallel to the base plate during a fall, the post is movable between an upstanding and a lowered orientation resulting in a variable moment arm and a resisting force that also varies for maintaining the torque substantially constant. Apparatus can include devices between the post and the base plate such as a torsion rod, a friction clutch or a cam arrangement. Other approached include designed deformation of the post itself, such as a through tapered post.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a semiconductor device package which includes a carrier, an electronic component, conductive elements, a package body, a shield, a magnetic insulating layer, and a patterned conductive layer. The carrier has a top surface on which the electronic component is disposed. The conductive elements are disposed on the top surface of the carrier. The package body is disposed on the top surface of the carrier and encapsulates the electronic component and a portion of each of the conductive elements. The shield is disposed on the package body and covers an exterior of the package body. The magnetic insulating layer is disposed on a top surface of the shield. The patterned conductive layer is disposed on the magnetic insulating layer. Each of the conductive elements electrically connects the patterned conductive layer to the electronic component.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a multimedia audio inserter removes the left and right audio channel data from a multimedia signal, for example an HDMI® signal and replaces it with an alternate audio signal, which may be the center channel audio signal provided by a digital surround sound receiver. In exemplary applications, the resulting, modified multimedia signal may be provided to a digital television that is part of a surround sound system, enabling the television to play the center channel signal through its speakers. Optionally, the multimedia audio inserter may provide a copy of the multimedia signal at a multimedia feedthrough output. In exemplary applications, the multimedia feedthrough output may be used to play left and right channel audio, present in the HDMI® signal, through dedicated left and right speakers.
Abstract: A manufacturing method of a shaped object is provided, in which a surface of the shaped object can be decorated, while the shaped object being in a forming process. Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a lane identity of a vehicle travelling in a roadway where the roadway contains a plurality of lanes is determined based on information from sensors associated with the vehicle and map data for detecting the lane marker type to a left side and right side of the vehicle, any lane crossings during travel of the vehicle along the roadway, a history of lane marker type up to a predetermined travel distance along the roadway, and the lane marker type at the instantaneous position of the vehicle in the roadway. The lane identity method and apparatus outputs a confidence belief identifying the probability that the vehicle is traveling in one particular lane of the roadway.
