Patent number: 5647415Abstract: A drain funnel for drums having retaining pockets for the storage of closure caps for the pouring spout and vent opening of the drum. The funnel also is provided with a cover to permit the funnel to remain in place without the escape of fumes from the drum.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1995Date of Patent: July 15, 1997Assignee: ENPAC CorporationInventors: James P. Onders, Darel Taylor

Patent number: 5598594Abstract: A ramp for loading containers on or loading containers from an elevated surface provides a collection space for containing spillage on the ramp. The ramp is wedge-shaped and has an upper inclined load carrying wall and a bottom wall joining the load carrying wall at one end thereof. Sidewalls and an end wall join the load carrying and bottom walls to define an internal containment chamber. At least one drain opening is provided in the load carrying wall for collecting and for directing any spillage on an upper surface of the load carrying wall to the internal containment chamber.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1995Date of Patent: February 4, 1997Assignee: ENPAC CorporationInventors: John O. Milliken, Darel Taylor

Patent number: 5579700Abstract: A spill pallet for supporting a plurality of fluid containing vessels. The pallet has a bottom and a series of vertically oriented side walls which cooperate to form an open-topped box structure. The side walls have a peripheral rim defining portion which includes an inwardly extending lip portion substantially parallel to the bottom wall. A plurality of pillar supports are provided between the bottom wall and the lip portion to support the lip portion. The bottom wall has a central support member defining an upper surface which is substantially co-planar with the lip portion. A grate is mounted on the central support member and has edges which are supported by the lip portion. Interlocking member are provided to attach pallets together and those interlocking members are also adapted to attach loading ramps to the pallet.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1995Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: ENPAC CorporationInventors: David J. Nuechterlein, James P. Onders, Robert D. Heintz, David G. DeBord, Darel Taylor

Patent number: 5560510Abstract: A salvage drum for hazardous materials includes a container and a lid threaded thereon. Projections on the container and lid are engaged by a lever, such as a two-by-four beam. The lever is wrenched to tighten the lid on the container. The projections are symmetrically spaced around the container and lid. The lever can be a bar having a crank with teeth.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1994Date of Patent: October 1, 1996Assignee: ENPAC CorporationInventors: Alexander Grebenyuk, James P. Onders, Darel R. Patent number: 5527052Abstract: A molded plastic cart has an inner wall conforming to a drum to be carried. An outer wall is spaced from the inner wall to create a containment space therebetween. One end of the cart has a recess for collecting spills or overflow from the drum. Apertures in the recess allow fluid to flow into the containment space where it is held until emptied through a drain hole. The cart is tiltable and has wheels to facilitate transport of the drum.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1994Date of Patent: June 18, 1996Assignee: Enpac CorporationInventor: Michael H. Litin

Patent number: 5480191Abstract: A molded plastic drum storage and/or transportation device has an inner wall conforming to a drum to be carried or stored. An outer wall is spaced from the inner wall to create a containment space therebetween. One end of the cart has a recess for collecting spills or overflow from the drum. Apertures in the recess allow fluid to flow into the containment space where it is held until emptied through a drain hole. According to one aspect of this invention, the device is tiltable and has wheels to facilitate transport of the drum. According to another aspect of the invention, the device is stationary and is adapted to store multiple drums in spaced horizontal adjacency and, with a drum spacer, in spaced vertical adjacency.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1994Date of Patent: January 2, 1996Assignee: ENPAC CorporationInventors: Michael H. Litin, John O. Milliken, James P. Onders

Patent number: 5359955Abstract: An improved spill pallet for the support of drums which contain hazardous material. The pallet provides a support surface which vertically abuts a grate upon which a number of drums are placed. Beneath the support surface is provided a number of bowl-shaped chambers which receive and contain spilled or leaked liquid. The support surface includes a peripheral rim, a series of support rails, and a central support member. The rails extend from a side wall of the pallet inwardly toward the central support member, a space or gap separating an inner terminal end of the rails and the central support member. Adjacent bowl-shaped chambers are fluidly connected by channels defined by the space between the terminal end of each rail and the central support member. The channels increase the volume available for retention and containment of liquid to at least two times the maximum volume of any drum or container placed on the pallet while the rails laterally support the side walls and help prevent deformation thereof.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1993Date of Patent: November 1, 1994Assignee: Enpac CorporationInventor: Alexander Grebenyuk
