Abstract: A method and an arrangement are disclosed for producing an electrically conductive pattern on a surface. Electrically conductive solid particles are transferred onto an area of predetermined form on a surface of a substrate. The electrically conductive solid particles are heated to a temperature that is higher than a characteristic melting point of the electrically conductive solid particles, thus creating a melt. The melt is pressed against the substrate in a nip, wherein a surface temperature of a portion of the nip that comes against the melt is lower than said characteristic melting point.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making paper or paperboard comprising the steps of; a. providing a stock suspension; b. adding a mixture of alkali-metal silicate and precipitated calcium carbonate to said stock suspension; c. adding an acidic media to said stock suspension substantially directly before and/or after step (b) d. forming a web of the stock suspension obtained in step (d) e. drying said web. The addition of a mixture of alkali-metal silicate and PCC and of an acidic media to the stock suspension in accordance with the invention improves the bonding between the fibers and the filler (PCC), whereby problems related to dusting is decreased. Moreover, the method enables the addition of a higher amount of fillers to the paper without substantially affecting the strength.
Abstract: A hydrophobically sized fibrous web layer, preparation of a fibrous web or a fiber-based coating, a multilayer board product having at least a middle layer formed of said fibrous web, as well as use of a heat-sensitive surfactant for said methods and products, whereby microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) and hydrophobic size are brought to a foam with water and the heat-sensitive surfactant, the foam is supplied to a forming fabric of a paper or board machine, dewatered by suction of air through the forming fabric, and dried to a web product. Alternatively the foam may be supplied onto a premade fibrous web and dried to form a coating layer. The hydrophilic functionality of the surfactant contained in the web may be destroyed by heating. Pulp of a greater fiber length, such as CTMP, may be included, to provide improved wet and dry tensile strength for the paper and board products.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a precursor for the production of carbon—and activated carbon fibers according to the wet—or air-gap spinning method, in which a solution of lignin and a fiber-forming polymer in a suitable solvent is extruded through the holes of a spinning nozzle into a coagulation bath, the formed thread is stretched and subsequently treated, dried at an elevated temperature and then wound up. The lignin-containing thread is an economical starting material for the production of carbon—and activated carbon fibers.

Abstract: A smart package backing (100) for pills removable from the backing, wherein the backing is adapted to record a removal of said pills by means of detection elements (103, 401a, 501a). The detection elements comprise electrical components (401a, 501a), wherein said electrical components are pressed onto the backing (100) with methods of printing technology. The removal of a pill from the backing is adapted to bring about a structural change in at least one printed component, and the structural change of said component is adapted to bring about an electrically measurable change in an electric circuit comprising said component. In addition, at least one of said electrical components (401a, 501a) deviates in terms of its specific electrical value from the specific electrical value of at least one other electrical component (401a, 501a).

Abstract: A chip attached to and electrically connected with a printed conductive surface, whereby the chip is heated to a temperature, which is lower than what the chip can stand without being damaged by the heat, the heated chip is then pressed against the printed conductive surface with a pressing force, whereby a combination of said temperature and said pressing force is sufficient to at least partly melt the material of at least one of the printed conductive surface, the contact point on the chip, or both, thereby attaching and electrically connecting the chip to the printed conductive surface.
Abstract: The invention relates to a cup package made of a fiber-based material and to a method for manufacturing it. The package comprises a cup 1 for the product 9 to be packaged and a lid 2 for closing the cup mouth. In accordance with the invention, the lid is partially nested in the cup, the adhesion between the inner surface of the cup and the lid retaining the lid in position. Adjacent beads, such as mouth rolls 5, 8 have been formed at the mouth of the cup and the edge of the lid, the beads acting as solder bases for the user's fingers/when the package is opened. The lid can be formed by connecting a discoid centre 6 and a surrounding frame 7 and by equipping the frame with a mouth roll by a technique corresponding to the manufacture of a cup formed of a bottom 4 and a mantle 3 connected to this.
