The method includes identifying a first NSD to export, where the first NSD includes a first version of content and first metadata, and identifying a second NSD to export, where the second NSD comprises a second version of the content and second metadata. The method further includes generating a source content definition file (CDF) document that includes a global property, a first version-specific property for the first version of the content, a reference to the first version of the content, a second version specific-property for the second version of the content, and a reference to the second version of the content. The method further includes storing the source CDF document in a persistent storage device.
